Disney Princess Half Marathon 2014

First off, I'd like to know if anyone here is running this next year.

I'm doing the Glass Slipper Challenge where you run a 10K on Saturday and then the Half Marathon. This will be my first time in Florida besides that it will be my first time visiting Walt Disney World. I'm planning to make a family vacation out of the trip. I invited my sister and nephew and plan to bring my daughter with me as well. I'm planning on arriving Thursday to check in, that way Friday I can pick up all the materials I need to run Saturday and Sunday. For one day, we want to purchase park tickets so we can all explore Walt Disney World together. What would be the best day? Keep in mind I have a 10K Saturday morning and Half Marathon Sunday morning. I don't want to walk my legs to death but I'd like to explore as well and still be able to run a good time.

Thanks in advance! I

If your time is really important to you, Sunday in the park is the only option, IMO. What time does the run start? I think you would probably be okay to do some park walking 3 hours after the start (around 2 to run and around 1 to recover).

I agree with you actually on waiting until Sunday. Saturday might not be a bad idea either. The 10K is early Saturday morning and the Half Marathon is early Sunday morning. I know I'll be finished with both before 9a.m.

Walking at Disney can be taxing, which is why I would pick Sunday over Saturday; just to be more ready on Sunday if finish time is important. A lot of the walking ends up being standing in line, which I find harder on my legs than moving faster.

I agree. This way I'm done, no worries and we can spend Sunday exploring together.

    Thanks!:flowerforyou:

Sunday would be good, that way you spend the day walking around and letting that lactic acid move around and not build up. It will be one heck of a cool down walk! :)

Right! I can stay loose and not worry about tightening up or cramping later.
