Feeling sick after eating?

Hello everyone!
I am about 6 1/2 weeks post op. I am now on solid food. I have been very diligent about my diet, and introducing solid food slowly etc..
At first, I was tolerating foods well. Now I am having a hard time. Even the foods like yogurt that I have been eating for weeks can make me feel ill after eating.
I am eating slowly and deliberately., making sure to try and listen to my body when I am full. I am at the point where I am afraid to eat anything!
I am waiting for a call back from my Dr, but it has been a few days of waiting and I need some input. Help please!

Hi there:
I'm glad you're in contact with your Doctor. I haven't experienced what you're going through. I do get an upset stomach when I've eaten too fast (such a bad habit to break), or if I ate a fork-full too much.
I do recall in a WLS Support Group that I went to, that some people were saying their taste-buds have changed. For instance, one person said they loved to eat chicken, but they were unable to do so following the surgery. The reason was explained that our bodies take a strong shock to it's whole system, including hormones, following the surgery. Perhaps this is what you're experiencing? I would be curious to what your doctor has to say.
The great thing is that you're doing exactly what you're supposed to do, in that you're adding different items to your diet SLOWLY.
Your body is sure to still be adjusting to the surgery, and we all experience it differently. This seems to be a wonderful source of information and ideas. I've glad I found it.
I just had the Gastric Sleeve done at the end of July. It's been fabulous to see some of this weight coming off. Now people can really notice the difference, and I've dropped into a smaller size in clothes; hopefully by the end of the month I'll drop another size. I hope you too have been experiencing positive results minus this feeling of being sick after you eat.
Hang in there! Feel free to add me as a friend, I'd love to hear how this turns out for you, and to know what your doctor said too.
Take care,

I still have times like that and I am 2+ years out. It happens if I eat too fast, too much or even sometimes if I eat something too dense. You are doing the right thing in talking to your doctor. While waiting for that call, go backwards to the shakes and smooth or pureed food. Can't hurt and may make you feel better in the meantime. Like I said, I can do this to myself, so I revert to shakes and such when I need to give my stomach a rest. Good luck!0

Thank you both! I am STILL waiting for a call from my Dr. I called and left another message with them, so hopefully I will hear back tomorrow.
I did revert to a liquid diet today. Seemed to help a bit.0 -
Has the queasiness gone away yet? Also, did your Doctor or his assistant call you back yet? If so, what did they have to say about why this is happening?
I ask because I had my first dumping episode this week. Wednesday, I decided to fix myself a small dinner salad. Within 10 minutes after eating it, I got the stomach cramps and wound up in the bathroom for hours. It was exactly like what has happened to me in the past with my Irrital Bowel Syndrome. I was feeling much the same the next morning. What got me even more frustrated is that I wasn't able to attend my month WLS Support Group Wednesday night.
Now I've learned something from this.... Don't eat something I've haven't had since surgery if I have an appointment or an event planned that day or the next! Sheeez, this is such a learning process. Ha!0
