For those of you that have used it or are using it... Do you take the capsules or drink the tea? When during your third trimester did you start taking it? How many times a day did you take it? Did you find it helpful? What brand and strength did you take?

I drink the tea and started it around 35 weeks. I started with one cup at tea time and I'm up to three cups a day now at 38 weeks. Tastes awful, so after removing the teabag I add a splash of the kids fruit squash to make it taste better! Am also eating a minimum of 30g of dates a day, as per the study. Also considering starting homeopathic caulophyllum 30 this weekend to help move things along and probably homeopathic arnica 30 for protection against soft tissue damage in labour. Anything that helps!0

I started drinking it two weeks ago at about 32 weeks. I started with one cup, then moved up to two cups, now am up to three cups a day.
It just tastes like tea to me, so I just drink it plain.0 -
I don't mean to hijack the thread or anything (SORRY!), but if you have purchased it, where did you get it from and what brand?
THANK YOU! (:0 -
I drink Twinings Supporting Raspberry Leaf teabags. You can buy the dried leaves from healthfood stores and brew it yourself too.0

I ordered this:
http://www.amazon.com/Womans-Raspberry-Herbal-Supplement-16-Count/dp/B0009F3SFK/ref=sr_1_2?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1382028933&sr=1-2&keywords=raspberry+leaf+tea
I didn't realize it was SIX boxes, but given that I'm up to 3 cups a day, I'm going through it relatively quickly.0 -
Our local tea store has a blend, and I buy it the Earth Mama Angel Baby brand from Amazon as well. The local brew is more fruity and tasty0

what are you using it for?0

from what I understand it is supposed to help prepare the uterus for labor. No hard science behind it, but it has a reputation for helping speed up labor and recovery, and in some cases help bring on labor.0

interesting the reason i asked was because i read when I was going through my miscarriage that it was good for helping to clear the uterus, and it did help after I took it.0 -
I am almost 5 months postpartum, but I drank it a couple of times a day from 35-38 weeks, then I got lazy. My son was born at 39+4. My first pregnancy, I didn't drink it at all. I bought Traditional Medicinals:
http://www.amazon.com/Traditional-Medicinals-Organic-Raspberry-16-Count/dp/B0009F3PP8
Now I've got a ton left over that I'm giving to my pregnant SIL.
It's not recommended to start earlier because it supposedly can cause contractions.
Hard to say if it did its job... My first labor was 11 hours, and my second was 4.5. However, second babies usually come much faster than first babies. My contractions were stronger the second time but more concentrated, so more bearable. Because every labor is different, even with the same woman, it's hard to do a side-by-side comparison.
However, drinking the tea can't hurt so long as your OB/midwife is ok with it. My OB had no objection to my drinking it.
Edited to correct "it's" to "its" because autocorrect sucks and because I know how to properly use both...0
