Sometimes I am starving even when I have no calories left!

Hi I am currently tandem nursing an older baby and a toddler. I try to eat between 1800-2000 calories a day. I'm not sure how much I really need. Sometimes I am fine with less calories however other times I am completely ravished like today. What should I do?

You should be eating 'maintenance calories' + '500 nursing a baby calories' + '200 nursing an older child calories', for example. That presumes baby is not yet eating food and toddler is feeding more than a couple of times a day still, otherwise adjust as you think fit.

Firstly, make sure it's not thirst. Then, yes, I say eat when hungry, but stick to high proteins, fiber filled foods, and healthy options.
