Intro and Let's be buddies!

Hello!
I am 27, 5'2, 192lbs, and diagnosed with PCOS two weeks ago after TTC for 6 months (but not actively preventing for 2 years).

I'm trying to lose weight to improve my odds of getting knocked up and to prep for the possibilty that I may have to go to more extreme measures to get pregnant (IUI, IVF).

I go back to the doc this week to explore the possibilty for going on Clomid and Metformin.

Anyone want to be friends so we can support each other through this harrowing journey??
Anyone blogging their PCOS or TTC experience?
Anyone out there in this same boat? Anyone?

I'm six months pregnant but wanted to let you know that Metformin worked for me. I was not ovulating without it. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback on Metformin. I've totally been freaking myself out over this. It was a rather unexpected diagnosis.

Don't freak out too much about what you might have to do in the future - all the symptoms of PCOS vary among women, including how much fertility is affected. (I have an MFP friend who has PCOS and got pregnant by accident while on birth control!). For me, this is my second pregnancy and both times, I have not needed fertility treatment, unless you count Metformin the second time. You are young so you have awhile to try to figure it out.
  • HI there,

I take met and it really has helped my cycles ( along with the weight loss) I tried Clomid with no sucess but I believe that is because I was well over 200 lbs. I see my doc again on Nov. 1st to see what the next plan of action is. We have been TTC for 2 years but not proventing it for 3 years...

    GL!
