My favorite pre or post workout snack is a wasa rye crisp cracker, with 2 tsb peanut butter, and a half a banana sliced on top. And i'll have a pile of carrots.

right now i'm having a slice of whole grain bread toasted with a slice of low fat cheese, a small piece of bacon and 1/8 avocado. its pretty good, but i dont have bacon every day. i will make this again for a snack but with turkey instead.

sometimes i have my protein shake as a snack but its never very filling and i'd rather sip it throughout the day so my protein is coming in all day at an even digestible rate.

what do you guys power your lifts with?

My favorite pre-workout food is a chicken avocado club sandwich, which I can have with fries on a lifting day if I've slept through breakfast. Post-workout, I like to cook myself a pork chop.

I don't get either of those every time, of course, but that's my favorite. I don't do snacks often, so meals usually occur soon before or after workouts.

I lift in the mornings after breakfast. So...breakfast is my pre workout meal/snack. It's almost always 2 eggs with toast and OJ. Or sometimes it's the weight control instant oatmeal or 1/2 bagel w/cream cheese and eggs. Ive found that I need more carbs in my breakfast since I'm lifting within an hour of eating it. Oh yeah....and coffee. Always coffee.

Post workout is almost always the same.....quest bar and a banana with a cup of coffee.

Preworkout is usually coffee, a quest bar and a banana, post workout is a protein shake smoothie followed by oatmeal with fruit, or scrambled eggs, or both. :)

I actually workout fasted most of the time, as I normally hit the gym before dawn. It's not the most common thing to do, but it feels good to me and my coach said it's fine! If I workout later in the am then I eat my breakfast first. My breakfast is always the same; ezekial toast with almond butter or sunflower seed butter, and scrambled egg whites. Post-workout I have my protein shake and some berries or other fruit.

I also tend to work out fasted. Post-workout is usually a smoothie with banana, almond milk, and protein powder.

Also working out fasted, when I get home I have a protein shake and multivitamin. About 2 - 3 hours later when I'm at work I have my actual breakfast.
