did my first real ride tonight. my bike is nothing special. a mountain/road hybrid with road tyres. 21 gears, front suspension.
i need new pedals as ive only got the plain ones that give no power when pulling up. only the pushing leg provides power so already im losing half my effort. also the back brake doesnt spring back when i pull the lever and the best i can get it is that its still slightly rubbing the back rim which doesnt help my cause either.
i use runkeeper to track my rides and tonight i pulled out 7.88km in 23:17
i also run 3x per week and swim 1x per week. now that i have my bike up and running (its had a puncture for about 3 months, just never got around to fixing it, and ive borrowed some lights from my old man so i can ride at night which is the only time i have to do it) i will be riding to the pool on swim nights and riding to work 1x per week.
my ultimate goal in all of this (other than getting fit and losing weight) is to compete in a triathlon in 12 months.
i will continue to post stats from my rides in this thread.
