New to MFP but not new to MS.

I was diagnosed in 2006, and spent 3 years in a wheelchair. I haven't exactly been kind to my body, but I'm trying my best to make the changes I need to. I've been doing regular gym visits, but it's so hard doing this balancing act with MS.

"Am I doing too much?" "Am I over-heating?" "Am I eating the right food?"

Just looking to make some fitness buddies here who are as familiar as I am with the balancing act :)

HI. I am familiar and still over do it sometimes. I was going to the gym about three times a week and then I had a flare. Some things I have learned:

The pool is my best friend. I will be really tired when I get it out but, it has more bang for my buck.

When I don't use the pool, wear my cooling vest. Very necessary to avoid over heating.

When the cooling vest is too heaving or the temparature inside or out is not suitable for it, I will use one of those cooling neck bands too.

I usually sit on the recumbant bike and have been rowing lately on the row machine.

the trainer says to take it slowly and only go to fatigue. (I like to push)

    drink plenty of water.

This is all I can remember at the moment.
