The month's almost over!

Hi everyone! October is almost at an end. How are we all doing with the goals we set for this month? I decided a week or two ago to join Weight Watchers and I'm liking it so far. Did my first meeting this past Friday and got a lot of good tips. I definitely ate a lot this weekend, but they say you have extra points to use for things like that. Hopefully that's true. I'm trying to combine MFP and WW so that I can make sure I'm under calories, under points, and on target with macros too. It seems to work out well because they mesh together nicely. I'm doing all the WW by hand-logging, calculating, etc. And I like the meetings because face to face support is helpful too, even though I've found a ton of awesome supporters/supportees on here too. So I guess the moral of my goal this month is that I got a bit sidetracked and decided to stop trying the same thing over and over, as it wasn't working, and to incorporate something new to kick my goals into gear. I did a 5k yesterday with one of the lovely ladies from here and it was a blast. We did 96 stairs in the middle of it too that led up to the monument and I think it really helped me to realize I can push myself a little harder. I don't need to see my setbacks as setbacks to my overall health or my abilities, because they aren't. I'm still as capable of doing things like that as I was when I was 10 lbs lighter. So just because I haven't weight-wise gotten to where I wanted to be, I'm going to start pushing myself more. Stay tuned in the next few days for a November goal posting. And let us all know how you're doing with this month here

I swear that picture is what those 96 steps looked like! But we did it, and it was awesome
I'm doing pretty well with my Insanity goal. I'm still working the program, but modifying it to fit my life. I am not able to make the time for it 6 days a week, but I'm getting it in 4 days a week. I'm down about 6lbs since I started it, and I definitely feel stronger, and I've lost a few inches as well. I think I'll look for another exercise dvd just for variety in the future, I'm still loving Insanity and am definitely sticking with it.
I'm slowly making better food choices, still struggling with cooking more things myself. I did make a pot of pork and veggie soup over the weekend that turned out really well Got a few packets of protein powder over the weekend (thanks Amanda for telling me about Raisin Rack!), excited to try them out! Plus picked up some organic blueberry flax oatmeal that was super yummy, almond milk, some lentil chips (that my daughter even liked!), and a spinach & feta pocket that was only 120cals and super delicious. I'd love to do more shopping there, but holy crap is it expensive! I'll be better off learning to cook my own meals first and then slowly incorporating the organic and pricier stuff.0 -
I, for one, will be thankful when this month is over...and onto a new one. I failed myself this month...hardycore. Curse the cold weather, deelish beer, and lack of will power.0

Humm, well.... I had alcohol over the weekend while camping, so my goal not to have anything to drink until Thanksgiving was shot. I have been eating sweets like they are going out of style for the last day and a half, but I think I have the under control starting now and will come in under calories for today. Rocked it at exercise this month. Started my new running club and am really enjoying it, not to mention meeting new people. So all in all, October is not too bad but would agree with the above poster and say that I am glad October is almost done. New month - yay!0
