Sorry if this is outside the bounds of what we can post in this group, and you can remove it if you want! It is at least *sort of* fitness related!
A friend of mine is fostering a dog that would be a great running partner for anyone who has been considering adopting a dog. His name is Rex. He is 2 years old and is a mixed breed with some Border Collie in him. He is medium-sized and very active. I am trying to spread the word about this dog, and I think he would be perfect for a runner. He is from the Clinton County Humane Society in Frankfort, Indiana.
I recently adopted a dog from this foster mom and have been training him to run with me. Running with a dog is so joyful and fun. He takes my mind off things and gives me a sense of security when I'm out by myself. Plus, all that exercise makes him very mellow and happy in the house.
Here is a picture of Rex and the link to the Humane Society website:

My dog usually wears out after about a mile and a half - then I have to "pull" him the rest of the way - even though he wants to pull me the first Mile or so... If he could just be like mile 1.0-1.5 for the whole time he'd be a great running partner.0

I've had to work mine up to it. We are doing 3 miles now, but we started at only a mile (running 3x a week) and added a half mile of distance each week.
He's a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix with lots of energy and a high drive to please, which helps a lot. I keep him on a Gentle Leader to prevent him from pulling me and he runs nicely next to me. I also use Musher's Secret paw wax his pads so he doesn't get pad injuries. It keeps him more comfortable and willing to run longer. I also have him on a glucosamine supplement to prevent any joint issues.
This is my baby:
