A few of you asked why I needed to run on a treadmill that had a certain max speed. My gym treadmills max out at 12.5 MPH. Recently I found out that other gym locations have treadmills that run at 14 MPH. My goal was to find out how fast I could run at max speed.
It turns out lots of people think the same way I do
See the Ryan Hall Treadmill Challenge below:
"A hip injury may have forced elite marathoner Ryan Hall out of this Sunday’s New York City Marathon, but his presence—and his pace—is being felt in the Big Apple this weekend. Hall’s sponsor, Asics, is driving a flatbed truck around Manhattan with a treadmill on the back, challenging anyone who dares to see how long they can hold the Olympian’s best marathon pace."

The goal is to see how long you can stay on the treadmill at his marathon speed (12.6 MPH or a 4:46 min/mile)
Since I already performed an identical test at 12.5 MPH and have ran up to 14 MPH on a treadmill I am confident I can perform this test safely.
Here is my test at 12.5 MPH:

I will have to visit another gym location to run at 12.6 MPH this week.
Anyone care to join me in the challenge?
Be safe and good luck!

Wow!! I really thought you could do the whole 4:46 mile! You were looking strong!
I saw that Ryan Hall commercial and all the folks that harnessed up and took the challenge. I don't think I could even sustain that pace for 10 seconds. Hats off to others who join in on this challenge.:drinker:
