Just joined the group-- hello!

Hi all, I just joined the group today. Glad to have found a group devoted to this plan! Don't have the book yet, but I read the article in Woman's World this week and also did some reading on Chris' website. I'm 59 years old and weigh somewhere around 280, when I should weigh around 130. My daughter's getting married in about 6-1/2 months and I already bought a size 16 dress I need to fit into by then-- I'm currently a size 24 (!). Also need to get the weight off for my health, of course.

I'm planning to start the turbo plan, and wanted to ask if anyone else here is doing it and how it has worked for you. I'm also a bit curious about whether it's a challenge to keep re-starting low carb-- having done Atkins in the past, I know that the first 2-3 days on low carb are the worst, so do you all feel like you have to keep going through those "worst" days?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

  • Also, another quick question-- the magazine article gives a meal plan, and shows a smoothie which includes fruit on even the low carb days. Is that correct? I'll be getting the book soon from Amazon, but in the meantime just trying to figure this out.
  • Never mind, I just got my answer when I watched Chris Powell on the Dr. Oz show, and he says to start every day with some carbs.
