Daily Challenge--Tuesday--Activity Planning

So today I am challenging those amoung us who have not quite yet incorporated regular activity into your logging routines.
Yes, you may keep meticulous records of every crumb of food and every drop of water that passes your lips but that's still only part of the equation.
You must increase your daily activity level too.
So today I challenge you to post all of the reasons you have not added light to moderate physical activity to your daily routine.
Perhaps you have a note excusing you from gym class. Perhaps you forgot your kit. If you really have genuine medical reasons and standing orders from your doctor to do no exercise, well, there isn't much you can be blamed for. If you just forgot your gym togs, we won't make you run in your underwear, but yourr excuse is still kinda lame.
I used to claim I had no time for exercise, yet now I spend HOURS each day tending to my hound's walikies and the general state of her digestive processes. Six months ago I would have told you such rescheduling was impossible and that life was too busy for such nonsense.
Now my schedule runs acording to the ebb and flow of my dog's ingestion and excrtion. I get about two hours of exercise a day, rain or shine, and my work/home life remains in balance.
Admittedly, the nature of my work permits this where say, being a cab driver, dentist, or regional district manager for a mid-level logistics and distribution network might not. But if you pry deep into your day timer...can't you find...ten minutes?
And even if you can't find ten minutes today, what about tomorrow, or Thursday, or the first Friday after the full moon? Is your life so chock-a-block that you can't find ten minutes to spend increasing your metabolism and getting your glisten on? Because if it really is, then perrhaps weight loss shouldn't be your first priority...
So...if your reasons opposing activity are flimsy and your excuses thin, you are challenged to find ten minutes to do SOMETHING!
Pencil in a little sweat this week.
Good logging and good luck.
Tomorrow...PROTEIN DAY!

I'm in. I need this.
I was walking and doing strength training regularly right after surgery. It was doctor's orders. But then fractured my little toe. That stopped the walking, but was no excuse for not doing a few arm and leg lifts.
The toe is healed now, and I'm crazy busy at work, but again no excuse for missing a couple laps around the block at lunchtime.
Thanks for the kickintogear. Okay, gonna start now.0 -
I also used to say I had no time for exercise and although it is true that I have little time in between work, small kids, household stuff, and sleep I did find that instead of using my breaks at work to move from one sitting place to another sitting place that I will often just walk... I will also go for a small walk if I am feeling sluggish instead of going for a coffee of snack...
I would like to find enough balance that I can go to the pool a few times a week as well... And getting a treadmill at home (still saving) so I can walk in the evening when it's not good weather outside. It gets friggen cold here in the winters and nothing will make me go out there unless it's dashing to my warm car or shoveling snow so I can escape lol!
If I can make time, full time working mom of 2-4 kids and husband always on the road then we can all make time0 -
Okay, you got it. 10 minutes of moderate (It felt brisk, but noo...) walking at lunch, 53 calories and a glow. It's a start. Thanks.0

EVERYTHING counts!
Do what you can, when you can. Ask Mike! He's the master of the mini-break pump up work out.
I walk my hound. Some people crank the tunes and vacuum 'til they sweat. If it raises your spirts and your metabolism safely--IT COUNTS!0 -
This seems to have taken root. Couldn't walk at lunch (spent w/old friend) or after work (live in coyote/mt.lion territory), seriously good excuses. But I did laps around the house before dinner. I had needed to get started again, and this challenge did it. Thanks again for being the catalyst.0
