Hi everyone. I am new to the group but not to MFP. I am trying very hard to get back on track and was hoping to find some inspiration, tips, etc. in a couple of new groups.
A little about me... I have had thyroid issues forever. I was in my early twenties when I was diagnosed with HypoT but probably had it when I was in my teens. I was diagnosed with Hashi's about a year ago. I am still trying to get all of that under control and trying new things as far as eating, etc. to try and alleviate symptoms and speed up weight loss. I lost about 35 lbs but have gained most of it back. I WANT to try gluten free/paleo but have yet to kick myself in the *kitten* hard enough to really DO IT! I also have fibromyalgia.
I just turned 39. I would like to lose 80lbs by my 40th birthday.
I ride horses but that's pretty much it on the exercise front. Most days I am too tired and in too much pain to do a real workout. Riding is a workout but I love it so I dont mind the pain. I am tossing around the idea of joining a gym. I think if I have a place to go rather than force myself to workout with the kids, dog, and husband underfoot, I may be more successful. I am a good rider and I have a great horse. I want to really excel at a few different genre's of horse showing. I can't do that if I am fat and out of shape.
I log in every day, even if I don't log my food. I am usually not behaving if my food diary is empty.
Anyway, I am looking forward to sharing ideas and support. My diary and everything is open and if anyone wants to "friend" me, feel free!

Hi Mindy,
I also have hypo, guess that's why we are all here. Yes the gluten free is hard at times but just make the best choices you can every day. Right now I am trying a mix of south beach and atkins. So far almost 2 weeks in, it seems to have helped. I hope to be able to post some results by the end of the month. Others hear have similar stories.
Good luck to you!!
