When you make poor eating choices

When you make poor choices, or indulge, when does it show for you on the scale. I always just assumed it would show pretty much right away--within 12 hours anyway? But, over the past week, I had two people say that (for them) it doesn't show until a couple of days later, so if they indulge in something on Sat. night, scale won't go up until Monday and they know that, and expect it........is there some general rule, or is it different for everyone?

Last week I blew my calories on Thurs, Fri, and Sat... when I got on the scale Monday AM I was up over 2 lbs. For me it's right away, but since I corrected my indulgences quickly, it is already back down within a day or two. You'd have to maintain those crappy habits for the increased weight to stick, but I guess when you see it on the scale would be different for everyone... but my guess is it would be quick.

It will show "immediately" (as in, be added to your total weight immediately).

Now as said, you would have to hold the bad habits for a more than a few days for the gain to stick really and be noticeable amidst normal fluctuations - water weight, going to the toilets, food in stomach, etc.

If you eat 1 kg of fried fries or eat 1 kg of vegetables, or drink 1 kg of water, you will weight the same on the day, but not after you go to the crapper a few times...

Sounds like those people could use a refresher in physics. Where do they think this extra mass comes from a few days later? Their pores grow extra large and they absorb it through mid air?
