I was going to post this on the main forums, but realized I'd probably offend a lot of people and then decided that was a bad idea and probalby uncalled for. So I'm posting it here, where I'm pretty confident everyone is in the same "lift heavy" camp with me.
From a Yahoo article today: "You'll Need: A set of 3-pound dumbbells. Those aren't wussy weights—we guarantee you'll firm with these exercises."
Bwahahahaha! Well, okay, perhaps firm is relative. And yes, I've done some exercise classes where you do a bazillion reps using small weights and you definitely "feel the burn". But still... bwahahahaha!

I totally did the TA Method last year thinking I was going to be ripped & lean and supa hot!!!!!!!!!
I would kick my own *kitten* if me from last year approached me from this year.
My 4th grade son now owns all my "paper weights" for his section of the home gym. He uses them to balance and do pushups and holds them on his shoulders while he practices balancing methods for his taekwondo. At least they didn't go to waste!0 -
well , everyone has to start somewhere, and small handweights are a whole lot better than nothing.
