Snack time!

HHC crew here ya go! Donna, Lindalee and I brainstormed and made a snack list on the plane ride back from the certification course. Here is our easy list followed by some great recipes. Remember keep it all simple!

String cheese
Many nuts (trail mix for sure)
Chobani yogurt
turkey/beef/elk jerky
hardboiled eggs (I also love egg salad)
tuna salad
pb and celery
cream cheese and celery/carrots/broccoli
hummus (pine nut hummus' alone has a good ratio depending on home made or the brand)
A slice of turkey or lunch meat
edamame
apple and cheese or apple and nut butter
chicken salad

If the ratio is not a perfect 1:1 for weight loss you can always add some lean protein. Here are a few snack recipes:

Green Drink Smoothie
Ingredients
Kale
Carrots with tops
Dill
Parsley
Cucumber
Whey protein powder, isolate Lemon juice, fresh squeezed Water
Directions
‣ Place all ingredients in a strong blender and blend until smooth.

Strawberry Yogurt Cheese sticks
Celery
Yogurt cheese Strawberries Chopped walnuts
Directions
‣ Wash celery and cut into sticks.
‣ Blend fresh strawberries into yogurt cheese and spread onto celery.
‣ Sprinkle chopped nuts.


Energy bar (add lean protein)
Ingredients
Brown rice syrup
Almond butter
Almonds
Macadamia nuts or nut of choice Raisins
Sunflower seeds Pumpkin seeds Dried apricots Dried banana Dried cranberries Oats
Directions
‣ Add equal amounts and mix together brown rice syrup and almond butter.
‣ Add remaining ingredients into the sticky mixture and combine.
‣ Once thoroughly combined, form into bar shaped block and let stand.
‣ You can use any nuts and fruits to your preference just make sure you
incorporate the lean protein and fruits.
