Hello everyone,
My name is Dominic, and I have had CRPS/RSD for just under 4 years. It currently affects my left leg from toes to my hip. I can still walk, but only several metres a time, and usually, only inside the house. Anything else, I use a wheelchair. I joined MFP to support my wife (who is also my carer) as she fights her battle with weight.
Prior to CRPS, I was a Police Community Support Officer in my local town in the UK (a PCSO is part of the police, but doesn't have all the powers or equipment of a full constable). My job was to patrol a beat, much like a Constable of yesteryear. This meant I would usually walk anything between 6+ miles a day, and found it difficult to keep my weight above 9 stone (126lbs). But since being struck with CRPS, I have found my weight shoot up. I'm therefore mindful of putting too much weight on my bad leg, as my knees give way, and I often fall.
I look forward to interacting with you all and passing on knowledge or receiving from you.
See you on the boards,
D
