I arrived at work today to learn that my co-worker's daughter had a medical emergency over the weekend and had to deliver her baby girl via c-section 12 WEEKS EARLY!!! Poor little baby girl was not quite 2lbs - but all her organs are working and she's being well taken care of in the NICU. Mama is also in ICU - it will be a long healing process for everyone - but the outlook is positive.
Scary, scary news to hear this morning, thoughts and prayers go out to the family!!

Oh wow, that poor family. My niece was also born at 28 weeks. She had to spend the first three months of her life in the hospital but today she is a thriving 6 year old, gabbing non stop:) Thank goodness for the amazing medical advancements in the past 30 years!0

A childhood friend of mine just went through something similar. They discovered when she was 20 weeks pregnant that she had brain cancer. It was too dangerous to operate during pregnancy. At 27 weeks pregnant, the doctor said her cancer was growing too quickly and if they didnt do something about it asap, she wasn't going to live to 40 weeks.
They rushed her to SLC and had an emergency C-section. Baby went straight to NICU and mom went straight in for surgery. The baby is going to be just fine, but mom will not. They have given her 3 months to live.
She is in SLC, with her baby in NICU there. She has 6 other children at home!0 -
Wow! Those are scary stories! I'm glad the babies are both safe and the mothers both have the opportunity to meet their blessings, but so sad!0
