Stronglifts and Zumba

Wow, so it has been awhile since I've been on. I stopped lifting weights and plummeted into a full on binge-eating disorder. I have sought help in the form of therapy for the eating disorder but have gained weight and feel so weak and sluggish.
I love going to Zumba. It is the only exercise I look forward to and it makes me feel really good. However, I have about 25-30 pounds to lose and I know I'm not going to like the way I look if I don't lift weights to preserve muscle.
To preserve muscle mass do you think doing Stronglifts once or twice a week would work? I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate both without overextending myself.

Oh how I miss zumba. My lovely wonderful dance-trained zumba teacher gave up the classes a couple of years ago, and then the not so wonderful but still ok, gym-bunny zumba teacher dropped her classes in the area, so now I have no zumba. I was just thinking this morning how I need something fun and dancey to include in my routine.
But, I think 2 SL sessions a week with zumba would be great. I've mainly been doing SL twice a week since I started with it (way back in May, I think) and I have had substantial strength gains. I would give it a go and see how it went... It wont hurt, or if it does, drop it!
Good luck0 -
I've been doing stronglifts 3 times per week, and Zumba once a week along with walking most days. I have wondered if I should do the Zumba, or if it takes away from my strength for lifting since it is so intense.0

If you love Zumba then keep at it, the best form of exercise is the one you enjoy
I always say to myself there's no such thing as over training but under recovering  providing you get enough food and sleep there is no reason for you not to0 -
If the schedule allows, do the Zumba more days than strength training. Otherwise do both not exceeding 3-4 total workouts per week. I would say to try this for at least a month or two.0

Stronglifts 5x5 if done properly is a 3 times a week workout.0
