Military Men aren't ALL Jerks, lol

I was really surprised when I deployed with the marines and army guys that many of them were much more "family men" than I'm used to in my air force travels. This current assignment is another joint assignment (all forces) and I'm surrounded again by men who care about their families, who take time out to

I don't know if my mindset has changed (maybe not so bitter about what's happened in the past), if I'm just around a better caliber of men than earlier in my career, or if people have just grown up (me AND them) but it's really refreshing to be around military men who truly value their wives.

I won't retract my stories, because they are true and something to watch out for, but please do not take them to be true of ALL military men. if I scared any of you from dating a military guy I am truly sorry.

i never thought they were jerks i just never considered them in the dateable pile because their sorta like cops and firefighters. sure i love big strong men in uniforms who are used to being disciplined, but the potential dangers of their jobs is a turn off for me in terms of dating.

with that said their awesome for hookups but i sowed those wild seeds in my 20's

I try to judge people individual not by their job or classification so your opinion of military guys never stuck with me.

I'm glad you're open minded. I remember several threads in this forum where people judge potential dates based on what they do for a living

I'm far too needy to date a military man. I rebounded with one after my ex husband left. (mistake!) He was very structured, manly and responsible. But i wouldn't end up with one. Dating the pilot was a cool experience but I can't deal with the traveling all the time.
