My first positive this week is how strong my legs are.. I love running and was doing intervals speed work, doing it at 7mph - now I've only ran 7mph once before, so I thought this was ace, so I'm thinking I bet I could go faster, so did the next at 7.5mph and the last 2 intervals at 8mph (they were 1 min intervals) - I have a fitness bucket list and one of them is to run speed intevals session at 8mph so I'm getting closer to crossing it off!!!!
As we don't celebrate Thanks Giving in the UK, I decided that my workouts were to be done in the evening for 3 days this week, which is hard time / get the motivation to not say I just want to put my pjs on / juggling stuff wise and I normally have to workout early morning before my brain catches on what I'm doing - I took a spinning class this evening and I'm so glad my legs are strong as it was tough...
My PIF was I complimented one of the other ladies in the class, I actually don't like when we have to do the pay it forward / compliment people etc as I'm not fond of doing this sort of thing if I'm told too... some how it makes me feel like I'm being fake, so this was something I did without thinking and afterwards I released I could use it as my PIF.. so I was happy that it was a genuine compliment.0 -
Can you say collarbone???!!! Hey there stranger! Where've you been all these years?
I that I can see definition there again.0 -
My pay It forward. My little sister is having a hard time this holiday season, and Christmas won't be any better. Her DH has left her and the children, and money is really tight for her.
Since, I got sick a few years back she has helped me beyond measure. She has helped me get thru these last few years. I honestly don't know how I would have survived with out her...So, I bought all her Thanksgiving this year. It's a small gift that I can give her, and her children. But, these babies are also my world.
Hope every one has a Blessed Thanksgiving~~0 -
Second (and even third!) positive physical attribute: I have always loved my blue eyes - even if they sometimes scare children over here! Definitely makes me stand out (as if I don't already over here  ) From a more fitness related perspective though, I love that my legs are beginning to look better. I have always hated my legs and am still glad that here you can't go out without completely covering them, BUT I do admit that they are now looking less flabby than ever before AND they are certainly getting strong :happy:0

My 2nd, I would of said my red hair but I believe I said that last challenge, so I'll do a different one... I like my shoulders and top of my back, if I flex I have a slight definition, which I love - I'm looking forward to lowing my BF% so I can see more.0

First positive physical attribute would be my legs. While my thighs are still ugly and flabby I can feel them getting stronger and that makes them a positive.
Pay it forward would be that I am sick and really want to do nothing but I am helping out a friend and making her a set of rolls that look like a bunch of roses in a circle for Thanksgiving since she can't bake and doesn't like store bought.0 -
Okay, so far this week I have....
1) Donated to a fundraiser for a friends daughter who was given the opportunity to become a student ambassador and travel to Washington DC. My daughter got to visit Australia through this organization so I know how impressive this trip is. I also shared her fundraising effort with everyone on my friend list through facebook just to help get the word out.
2) Went to the store yesterday and bought a nutritious lunch for the homeless lady standing at the entrance to the parking lot.
3) Stepped up to help out in another challenge. The organizer needs a week off and ask for a volunteer... its big shoes to fill but I'm gonna give it a shot.
4) Today I am going to clean out my hall closets and take extra coats, hats, gloves, and blankets to the homeless shelter.
5) I was put in charge of desserts for our Thanksgiving dinner. Being that most of my family can stand to lose a few pounds, I found 3 delicious dessert recipes on skinnytaste.com to make.0 -
Second physical attribute.... easy way out would be my eyes. They are a unique shade of green and I get compliments on them often but I think I'm going to say my upper abs. They are starting to get some definition. If I were to cover the lower half someone might actually think I have a nice stomach.0

Positives / Physical attributes.
I think women have been programmed to be dissatisfied with how they look. When did this happen? Ever since I can remember, I have been unhappy with the way I look (with the exception of my blue eyes which I do love) .... even when I was younger and not over weight at all I have to admit ...:blushing:
But I have come to realise that my body tells a story.
I don't like my less than toned arms ... yet not once have they let me down, I have always been able to carry my shopping every time, I have never dropped my babies, I have been able to hug and cuddle my children and husband.
My thighs are flabbier and more dimpled than I would like, but my legs have got me up every stair I ever tried to climb and supported my body on every step I ever took.
My belly and hips have more layers than I could ever want, yet they too tell a story, the loss of tightness and the caesarian scars tell the story of yes the food I have over indulged in, but also of the 3 wonderful daughters I have been blessed to bear and watch grow into lovely human beings.
So while my body may not be as beautiful as I would wish, it does a tell many beautiful stories and I am trying to be proud of the wonderful body I have and enjoy working to change it, only so that I can nourish it's ability to allow me live many more beautiful moments and uncover many more beautiful stories.
I have always loved my lips by the way .... and yes they could tell a story too but best not go there
P.S., I have been making progress during the course of this challenge on all the areas I am not so keen on. I have lost inches all over to the tune of 16.25 inches. This includes 7 inches from my thighs, 3 from my upper arms, 1 from my waist and 1 from my hips to name but a few problem areas that are now changing. So thank you Sheri.0 -
For my second positive physical attribute, I will say my arms. They are strong and help me move and carry heavy objects. I had started to take my arms for granted, which meant that they got shapeless and flabby overnight! When you are shopping for clothes, you don't expect to focus on ARMS with all the other areas that are staring you in the face  Anyway, I like the way my arms look now, thanks to all the upper body reps we have been doing in this challenge. I know now that arms need work too if they are going to stay strong and toned.0

For my 2nd positive this week. I like my hands, I have lovely, long and now slim again fingers, on which I get a few compliments. I'm also thankful for not looking my age, a curse when you are 18 , but oh so lovely at 55...;)0
-
I love the way my hair looks some days (not always).
My pay it froward was contributing to the Philippines Typhoon relief fund.0 -
My pay it forward was pretty simple- allowing an older couple with just a few items to go before me at the grocery store and then giving my cart to another older woman in the parking lot. That store charges a quarter to rent the cart- so I think it's appreciated to not have to find one!
A second positive attribute would be my cheekbones and jaw line. I've always been complimented on them.0 -
THANKSGIVING DAY:
I give THANKS for YOU & this CHALLENGE.
Thank you SHERI for these challenges & for EVERYone in the group who push me to be more healthy!!
My prayer is for you is to have a HAPPY & HEALTHY day!!!!0 -
2nd physical attribute is my nails. They are strong and grow easily (raw milk is great for hair and nails!) All of my nails have broken and chipped these past few weeks working on building a fence all around my property. But I know they will grow back fast and be strong and long soon enough. I will get compliments on them again in no time!
I love reading the pay-it0forwards and the self-approvals. So proud of y'all!0 -
I like my smile and blue eyes!
I also have a nice shaped behind (just want it a little smaller and tighter)
Pay it Forward:
A week long reunion for Thanksgiving this week. I have really tried to encourage everyone here AND I've stepped in and played mediator when the inevitable drama started (Inevitable when we had 31 people living together for a week, many with very strong personalities!) We love each other but there are a couple who always have a bit of tension!0 -
My second physical attribute that I love is my feet! I love, love, love my feet. I think they are pretty :blushing: This summer I took a huge leap and got my husbands name tattooed on my right foot. I know some of you are all :noway: We've been married for almost 13 years and he and my son share a name so there's that
For my pay it forward, we did a spaghetti dinner at our church Wed. night. I cooked the majority of the meal and then when backup arrived I was able to direct the serving of the meal. No, it wasn't a traditional thanksgiving meal but isn't the whole point really fellowship? Those that came really enjoyed it and I enjoyed giving my time and efforts.0 -
My second trait Was rather hard for me. physically there isnt much i like. But i like I am genuinely caring. I truely and deeply care for those in my life. And I will go out of my way to help these ones. Usually this means putting myself on the back burner. This why my one personal challenge this go around was find 5 minutes a day for myself.
And if that won't count for the challenge this week....... Then I guess I can honestly say I'm starting to like the figure I have again. I used to be a true hourglass and its starting to come back. Still a ways to go but it's starting to appear again.0 -
My pay it forward: I have been trying to turn out cupboards (part of my personal daily challenge!) and have ended up with boxes of stuff here that I need to give away. Yesterday I took all my son's clothes and distributed them to various "garibouts" (street kids who beg outside our front door each day ) I never give them money (knowing it goes straight back to the religious leader they live with) but often they get food we have left over. However, I realised that many of them are in DESPERATE need of clothes, so the box I had turned out of my son's old things was perfect! They were so grateful, and I felt quite bad, almost guilty, about the fact that it was stuff I had too much of and just needed to give away. A very humbling experience. How to work out who to give the rest of our "stuff" to! Never a shortage of need here :brokenheart:0
-
Physical Attributes: I like that muscle definition I'm starting to see in my arms. I've never had it before and I didn't know what it was at first
Another thing I like are my dimples and freckles. I hated them for a while because I felt like they looked weird and made me look like a cabbage patch kid (especially when I was heavier and had chubby cheeks). Now I think they gave me a youthful appearance as I get older0 -
I was having a hard time with a second physical attribute, and this morning my husband told me that he has been noticing definition in my triceps lately when I'm just doing regular things around the house! This was nice to hear because I always hate my upper arms; they always seem too big even when I lose weight...also nice to hear that he's still checking me out after 25 years!
As far as a kind deed this week, I'll have to go with waiting on my oldest son while he was sick and then hosting and cooking for my dad and stepmom (Tuesday-Saturday.) I just haven't been out-and-about to interact with others...
I'm with Kelly as far as these kinds of requirements seeming put-on if someone else *tells* me to do it...but it does make me realize that I should be more aware of complimenting and thinking of others on a day-to-day basis - even if it *is* just my family. They don't see a lot of outside folks either, so they really need these things from me!0 -
2nd Physical Attribute:
Since I just can not say anything is beautiful about myself I can say I look darn good for being "just about" 55 years old!!
Another pay it forward for me this week was:
I bought a floral centerpiece for my one and only assistant! I appreciate her soooo VERY much. When I do not have her for a day, I realize just how great she is!! I tell her that often but now when she looks at the flowers hopefully she will think of the my words of thankfullness!
I also fed my grandson (11 months old) and later bathed him (cuz I love to & it gave mommy a break)and also did all the clean up and dishes after last nights dinner at my sons family home!0 -
2nd attribute: I like my smile0
-
Physical attributes...
I like my eyes, I like the colour and I like how expressive they can be.
2nd attribute...
I like the muscle definition that is starting to show in my legs and arms.0 -
2nd attribute - My ankles are becoming more shapely0
-
Paying it forwards...
Whilst doing my weekly shop I decided to spend as much on food to go to the food bank as I did on myself. I ended up spending slightly more.0 -
Don't remember if I posted the 2nd positive or not so going to do it now.
oh so I really am having a hard time right now thinking of another one. I guess my arms since they are stronger and are used for supporting things I do and for carrying around my youngest and to cuddle my kids when they want it and to hold my husband when things are rough.0
