Filling Snacks

Hello Mommies!

The past 3-4 weeks I have gained about 10-12lbs (22lb total, I'm 23 weeks).. not sure if it's bc my appetite had increased big time, or some of it retaining water. I get up at 4:45 every morning, commute w/ my hubby, and we don't get home until 7:15-7:30 (our commute is 140 miles round trip.. DC commuters). I try to make sure I have a snack on the way to work, breakfast, mid snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and a little something to hold me over until I get home for dinner. I know lack of sleep has something to do w/ bigger appetite bc my body is trying to keep plugging along throughout the day and I find myself so ravenous that I feel like a snack is sometimes not good enough. On weekends, I don't have much of an issue since I get to sleep in and I ultimately feel less hungry. Are there any snacks that you ladies would recommend that are very filling and satisfying, but are healthy as well? My snacks right now generally include nuts and yogurt, sometimes cheese in the morning.

Thanks y'all

ETA: I also exercise in the morning when I get to work... there's a gym in the building and since my hubby and I have different hours, I end up at work earlier and take advantage of the extra time to exercise. We have just started commuting together in the last two weeks and haven't exercised in two months prior bc of exhaustion. I'm trying to be fit still  )

Vegetables with dip (I usually make my own ranch with greek yogurt or hummus). To make this portable I take a frosting container, as they are the perfect size. Put the dip down in the bottom and then put my celery and carrot sticks in pointing down. This gets dip on the bottom of the stick and you can pull them out and eat as you want. Unfortnately does not work well with other veggies. These I just have a container of veggies and a smaller one with the dip.

'Veggie Pizza to Go' - I take a tortilla or pita bread and spread with hummus or ranch dip. Chop up whatever veggies you want on there into small pieces. Spread the veggies out thinly so that it sticks onto the spread and then roll up like a burrito.

Mix fruit into your yogurt. Or make it into a smoothie.

Few ideas that first popped into my head. I also like to make a batch of muffins on Sunday that I take to work and can eat whenever a craving strikes.
