Just hoping someone may have had similar circumstance and might have some insight.
I am on Metformin and Birthcontrol, so my periods are normal because of the birthcontrol always start a few days after i start the sugar pills and always last 3-5 days, this month my period only lasted 1 day and was light. i have been very emotinal, also been very nauseous and have throw up (could be metformin)and have also had some clear jelly like vaginal discharge. I took a pregnancy test...it was negative. Am i just imagining that i might be pregnant even with a negative pregnancy test or is it still possible did i test too soon or is this just my wacky PCOS rearing its ugly head and I'm mistaking normal stuff as pregnancy symptoms?

I dont have any advice or words of wisdom about your question, but hang in there. Would it be a good thing if you were pregnant?0

When I was on the pill, I had short and sometimes non-existent cycles but only on certain pills.
I was never on Metformin and the pill at the same time. But when I was on Metformin, I would have pregnancy-like symptoms all the time (never with the pill though). Random EWCM, random nausea, even breast tenderness. In fact, I am pregnant now and I didn't think I was at first because I had more pregnancy symptoms on Metformin when I wasn't pregnant than when I actually was. It was so confusing.
None of this is exactly what you are describing though since I was not on the two medications at the same time.0 -
I took birth control (Sprintec) and it made me soooo moody. I couldn't function and I stopped sleeping from anxiety. It really sucked. Maybe you're pill has too much estrogen for you??
Talk to you Dr. about switching it!
Hang in there!! I know how it feels!!0 -
I have only been on metformin for 3 weeks, and I already have random pregnancy symptoms occasionally, and I really don't think I am. I'm pretty sure it's just the met having fun with me.
Chances are, if you're on the pill, you're not pregnant. The pill is very effective when used correctly, and still fairly effective even when used a bit incorrectly! Sometimes someone's period is just light, - could be stress, could be body reacting to new meds (if they are new), could be reacting to a new exercise regime, or a bunch of different explanations one of which is, for no reason at all! (i.e. just because your body feels like being weird)
You could try taking another pregnancy test in a week or so, but I'm betting you will get your period like normal next month.0
