I had my band on nov 30, 2012. Its been a year. 2 months ago I had a bad car wreck and broke both legs and one foot. I am still laid up. I was in the hospital a month. While in the hospital, I never had any saline removed from the band. Maybe I should have because I couldn't eat very good. The physical therapist put the gait belt around my waist and he lifted me by the belt. It caught and pulled the port. I am hoping he didn't mess it up. I still feel a little discomfort around the port area. I seem to be able to eat the way I did before the accident. I wont be able to get to my bariatric surgeon for awhile. I just hope its not messed up. It has been my lifesaver. I don't think I would ever have lost weight without it and my fear is that it will mess up and I will have to have it removed.
