salads, salads, salads

Ok- Salads work for me. They are quick and simple and help me get my veggies. Because if I had the choice, I would never eat a vegetable again. To not get bored I try to make them fun.

Here are a few of my favorites

Chicken Wing Salad
Lettuce (any kind )
grilled chicken
carrots
celery
hot sauce
blue cheese (measured out of course!)

I am from Buffalo- so wings are everywhere. And I love them. This salad really helps. I dont feel like I am missing out.

Chicken, Apples and Bacon on lettuce. I like that with Strawberry Ving. dressing

Big Mac salad
shredded lettuce
ground beef
sweet relish
onions
thousand island dressing

Ok- so what are some of your ways to dress up the boring salad???

yummo!!! You got any stats on those? I might like to try those asap! I have eaten nothing but salad and the occasional healthy leftover for the last 2 months....I have done a few changes (like kale salad blends with field greens and beet tops) - but nothing too extreme. I do need to get some protein into the diet.

    Great Post!

I don't have the stats on the salads...because they are different everytime. Depending on how much meat, dressing, fruit I use. Generally they are all under 400 calories. If I have the extra calories and I am having it for dinner I will add extra bacon...because I love bacon.

I know it sounds weird but the chicken, bacon, apple (i use granny smith) salad is super good. You really dont even need dressing for it. Sometimes I skip it to save the calories for something better in the salad.

I make a chicken and stuffing bake with apples and raisins in it. Doesn't sound weird to me!

I have a thing with meat in my salads. I just don't like the flavor combo; I don't even add bacon.

I like butterleaf lettuce, garlic croutons, asiago cheese, shredded carrots, raw red bell peppers, cucumber and this sweet italian dressing.

Bacon is ok if its done right in a salad. I have had some soggy bacon before in mine (made by others at a rest.) - yeah no thanks. And if its cold chicken....just doesn't do it for me either. Slightly warm is best. I love a good taco salad though....probably not the healthiest you can have, but then again , better than drowning my salads in blue cheese like I use to. Sure I was eating healthy right up until the Blue Cheese came along......hahahahaha!
