What works - What did you eat and how much exercise?

Hi everyone,

I have recently started getting serious about losing weight but would like to find out what's the best way, and something worked for a big guy.

Height: 6'4
Was: 360lb on 11/15 waist 46
Now: 330lb on 12/8 waist 42

I have lost 30lb in less than a month - but most of it is probably water weight. Currently I am eating about 1000 to 1200 calories per day. Low carb veggies - broccoli, bell peppers, cucumbers, lettuce etc + 6 oz lean protein per meal / two meals per day. I do cardio for 30 min / about 30 min of weights every day Also taking vitamins and some other supplements.

Couple days ago I started feeling light headed when exercising - stopped but it did not go away. I went and ate carbs and was ok for rest of the day. I don't want to be pushing it too hard.

I would like to get to under 220lb in some time, but would really like to get under 40 waist and 300lb as soon as possible.
Would like to get some ideas from guys that have done the initial weight loss in months. I would go slow and steady later, but would really like to drop another 50 lb fastest possible.

Congrats! I lost 30 lbs in a little over 1 week when I started. For me it was soda weight since I never drank water in the past.

What you are eating is good but how much isn't especially for someone your size. This isn't sustainable for the long run. Guys our size need fuel. There's a few online calorie calculators where you can plug in your stats and can give you an estimate of how much: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ is a popular one.

I don't know what your exercise routine is but the light headedness when exercising is not good.

I would too. Infact my goal weight is 200-220 range. I don't have a deadline though. I've lost over 200 lbs in the course of 3 years. Some people would think that's too slow but I don't care. I average between 3-6 lbs a month and I'm ok with it. Why the rush to drop 50?

When I started I averaged around 3500-4000 a day. Now I eat about 2200 calories on non exercise days and up to 3500 on days I do workout. A mix of good and bad foods. I don't restrict myself on anything other than soda pop. I also typically do a IF style of a diet eating 1-2x a day.
6'3, 289 at the moment and workout 4x a week. I do a mix of weights and cardio 60-90 mins with 1 day of rest in between. Usually I will still do something low impact on days off like walking for 30 mins.
