When I used to live in Idaho, I took many inches on many occasions. Bring it on.0

It was -11 here in Boise this morning. I miss San Diego.
I lived in Maryland February 2010 when we got hit by two blizzards that dropped a total of 40 inches. We had just arrived and were sleeping on the floor because our moving truck wasn't able to get through for 12 days. Ran out of groceries during the first blizzard and had to walk to the store for food for the kids.0 -

We got two inches over the weekend. It was hardly worth getting up for, just made everything wet and slippery for no reason.

Not crazy at all! We barely had time to get groceries before it hit. I wish we had a food stash at that time. I do now because of crazy things like that.0 -

Dude, you have to have at least 3 weeks supply at any given time, and at least 6 month worth of canned goods. Those calling you crazy would be the first at your place after a disaster.0 -

Ahhh Boise. The other side of the state. What's it like not being sandwiched between Nazi's and Skinheads?
I was just reliving some of our worst storms the other night. I remember one when I lived in Idaho Falls, where I had to go out a window and shovel out my door so I could open it to get in and out of the house. That was also the year I had to shovel my roof a few times to keep it from collapsing under the weight of the snow. It must have been in 93 or 94.0 -

Not crazy at all. You never know when you will need it. There could be a snow emergency like described above, or a natural disaster, or you could fall on economic hardship and not have any income. It's always wise to have a little something stored up. Now, if I would just take my own advice.0
