This morning, as I drove to the gym, I was listening to the radio, and they had a feature on women in corporate boards and senior executive positions in Fortune 500 companies.

http://www.npr.org/2013/12/10/249862083/women-still-largely-absent-from-corporate-boards

The article purports that women are excluded from the high-level positions on these corporations. Whether it be by circumstance, or discrimination, something is keeping them out.

My hypothesis is that if they had women in these positions, they would no longer be able to maintain status of a Fortune 500 companies. Those companies that have hired women to their boards and senior executive positions have been bumped from the list by more successful corporations.

Thoughts?

Right out of college when I worked in a Fortune 500 company, there was ONE woman on the board. The CFO, the CEO, and every other man who ever walked into those board meetings ran their decisions past her prior to those meetings. I was privy to it all as her executive assistant's assistant, (yeah they were that money.) This is how I came to know that in every organization, (not just family homes) the woman is truly in charge. You're welcome. :flowerforyou:

I got there when I was temping and she had visited our department once or twice and seen me work and attend department meetings. One day when she went downstairs for whatever reason she suddenly on a whim said, "You know what, I need another person, and I like her...I'm taking her Diane....see you this afternoon in my office" and then she waved one perfectly manicured finger in my direction and did come hither to me. THAT's power. She taught me so much after that.

    Nice try though.
