So yesterday I finally bit the bullet and bought some CrossFit shoes. I heard that a local store had them on sale for 50% off and I decided to check it out. I bought a pair of Reebok Nano 2.0 for $55. Yesterday was my rest day but I wore them around the house in the evening just to get a feel and I think they will make a big difference in my lifting. I'll find out after work today!

I might have to bite the bullet and pick up a pair of those myself. I've heard so many people say how get they feel and how it has helped them with their lifts.

    Love my Oly-Shoes.

Got them a few months ago (at an outlet store) and what a difference they have made. Defintely worth the investment !!

I had stopped by a sport department store today and saw nano 2s, 3s, and oly shows by Reebok. all prices above $100. I would love to get a pair but was thinking as I just started doing Crossfit. At what point do you really need them. I am sure they will help as you progress but how much of a difference did you feel once you started using them at the weight you were lifting. Just thinking here.

If crossfit is something you plan on continuing for the foreseeable future, then I don't think it matters whether you're a newbie or not when it comes to the right shoes. I have been wearing my Reebok nanos for months now (wish they'd been around in Australia when I started 2 years ago!!) and they make a big difference. I also have lifting shoes which have been an amazing investment, especially for squats, clean, etc. If you're only going to get one or the other, get the nanos. They have a flat and stable enough sole that they'll help with your lifting, but still be great during WODs also when it comes to running, box jumps, etc. No one really 'needs' them to progress. Let's be honest - shoes won't stop you from lifting heavier. But they will help with your form. It's a personal preference really...
I now own 3 pairs of nanos and my oly lifting shoes and wouldn't even think of wearing anything else to crossfit. If you're unsure, go into the store to try them both on and do some air squats with the nanos and then with the oly shoes, then put your current shoes back on and do more squats to compare. You should notice a difference, especially getting better depth in the oly shoes. I definitely think it's worth every cent...

What outlet? One of my issues with buying them online is that I have wide feet. I'd like to try them on before buying if possible.

I might hit you up on this when I look for the lifting shoes. I have a $40 gift card for Amazon that I want to use for the Nanos. Looks like 3.0s are tough to come by on there, especially in my size.

Got my Oly-shoes at the Reebok Outlet store - Located in the Merrimack Outlets (NH) - off exit 10 on Rte 3.

*they are last year's shoe (gray/black/red), but for the price I paid and the difference they have made - well worth it.
  • I got my nano 2.0's for $75 shipped on black Friday, and when they came in they were too small. I wear an 8 1/2 (US Womens) and the width was perfect, but I need to size up to a 9. I called Reebok and they assured me that I could return them for free, and that all I had to do to get a replacement pair in a 9 was to call them with the UPS tracking number and that they'd honor the sale price I had. I don't have anywhere within 200 miles of me that sells the nanos, so there was no way I could try them on before purchasing. I can't wait to get the correct size in, I definitely felt a difference in the stability with these shoes!

Might have to make the road trip. That's only about 45 minutes away from me.
