HI Ladies,
I have been passively active on MFP, but have been around. Would love to connect with other active members and just check in with other sisters who are still active. Give a little of your journey so far and how it is going or even ask questions or give some motivation.

Since I started this thread I will start.
So far my weight loss journey is progressive. my hardest struggle is patience. I get so impatient when I imagine how I want to be. It makes me want to drop reason and go on a fad diet that get me results, but I know it is only temporary and i will add all the weight back again. So far I have lost 59 pounds the right way, eating right and exercising in 6 months. I have 24lbs to lose. Hitting plateaus are very discouraging, my weight loss has slowed from a steady albs per week to may 1 pound. I know this is expected, but I can't hop but be disappointed anytime I step on the scale. And I can't help getting on the scale in the morning. I try to stay away from it for a week, but I am never successful, LOL.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to be patient about losing weight?0 -
Hello,
How to be patient while losing weight? That is a good one, I have struggled with from time to time and I guess I figure there is nothing other than continuing on. The other option would be to give up - NOT AN OPTION!
I recently updated my photo to a before and current photo and for me looking at the before picture shows how far I have come and makes me excited about what I might look like when I am done. My weight loss has been like stair steps with varied lengths of plateauing so I get it. My weight loss has been much slower than yours so you must be doing something right, I notice even when the scale is not moving I am still losing inches so don’t think there is nothing happening.
Also, I weigh myself every morning as well - I don't tend to pay much attention to it but I always did when I was younger and it helped me maintain my weight so I don't think there is really anything wrong with it for people who don't obsess over it.0 -
Hi Adc7225,
I really see the changes you have made. Awesome! Thank you for the advice…'continuing on.' This is a life long journey. My biggest struggle with weight loss is the idea that once I have reached my goal weight, then all the work is done. but after many years of yoyo dieting I realize that being healthy and fit is a life long activity that I need to have ingrained in me. Thinking of it that way keeps me motivated. You are right the only other option is giving up and that is NOT an option. I find that the scale can be misleading but I still want that magical number… I measured my self today and I have found that I have lost a couple of inches on my hips, thighs, bust and stomach. That is a lot for me considering the scale has only gone down 4 pounds since a month ago.
Thanks for posting.0
