I want to do the Whole 30. I am scared to do the whole 30. I know I would benefit greatly if I could overcome my fears. What am I afraid of??? Failure. I have the book It starts with Food, and am in the process of reading it. This plan seems very simple. But there are items I don't know if I could live without. For instance....DAIRY!!! Love my Swiss and cottage cheese...not to mention butter on my veggies and real cream in my coffee. No Stevia??? OMG...how can I survive with no sweetness in my life. And alcohol...I don't drink a lot, but I love a nice cold beer with my chicken wings or a glass of wine with...oh whenever!! Hey out there...anyone want to do this with me??
I might post this request other places on MFP as the New Year gets closer.

I may be interested in joining you. I've done three Whole 30's and in fact, started one last year right before Christmas. It made for a very boring New Years but it all worked out in the end. You can give up anything for 30 days so don't look at it as what you are missing, but enjoy all the additional veggies and other new foods that you may be including during that time. Also, I believe you can still eat ghee while on the Whole 30 and it's delicious.0

Are you guys going to do it for sure? Just checking!0

Sorry for my delayed response. I'm not able to read the message boards from my phone or iPad and don't login from my computer often.
I'm going to opt out of the Whole 30 this time. I've done three of them and while they are good to use for a reset, they definitely aren't doing the trick for me as I constantly go back to eating crap. Plus, the Whole 30 is complete torture for my partner and she actually gets angry by just hearing the term "Whole 30." Apparently it's a miserable month for her when I don't drink at all and when we can't go out to eat (and remain compliant) very often. I do not cheat at all when I'm doing a challenge so it really does suck in regards to socializing.
I will be eating NSNG (No Sugar No Grains)/Real foods and I'm going to keep it pretty strick for a while. I have no plans for grains at all, but will have a drink or two (vodka rocks) on the weekends. I just want to find something that I can live with that won't make me or the people around me completely miserable. I'm going to try to get my macronutrients at 70% fat, 20% protein, and 10% carbs. That's about where I was during my last Whole 30 too. If it's not doable for me, I'll adjust it accordingly in a couple of weeks.0 -
Have you decided on a Whole 30? I've done 2 and am considering a modified version for a 3rd. It would be nice to have an accountability partner.0

I hope I don't come off sounding like an *kitten*, but there's no modified version of the Whole 30. You are either doing the Whole 30 or you're not. Maybe do a clean eating challenge, paleo or primal challenge, a strict 30 days with No Sugar and No Grains (NSNG), or 21 Day Sugar Detox?0
