OK, without giving any opinion...

What do you think about a Bachelorette Party that is a "Lingerie Party." Meaning... everyone is to buy the bride to be undergarments, yo. Only women attending said event.

Is this normal? Appropriate? Is there an age distinction on these parties?

Discuss.


Also, I've always wanted to put "Women Only" in a thread title cause it's EFFING HYSTERICAL. Carrying along.

    I think it's a great idea. I always give the bride to be nice lingerie and either sex toys or sex games that could be played with the spouse because I'm THAT friend.

    I think it would be good to have a separate party for the prudes if you're planning this. I had a bachlorette party that was a toy demo, and that embarrassed me at the time, but that was only because I was pregnant and therefore they couldn't get me drunk. Also, I was a different person back then.

    I think you'd get LOTS of stuff that wasn't your taste, didn't fit etc. but there's always exchanges. And THAT my friend would make for a fun night out with the husband.

    I have been to one, except the guests brought one lingerie item and one other.

    Unfortunately, most of the guests were conservative Christians so the bride essentially got a dozen pairs of bloomers and one fiery red thong and sheer top (from me).

    OK, I guess I have to clarify a LITTLE. I am the maid of honor for a friend. She is about 38 and requested a lingerie party/overnight for a bachelorette party.


    I am obliging as whatever she wants is fine. What I think doesn't matter.


    Where this is coming from is that I'm getting inundated by OTHER people's opinions and essentially need some decent come-backs.

    I seriously think if it wasn't "worded" lingerie party... everyone would have brought some anyhow, cause that's what ALWAYS happens at a bachelorette, no??

    I have seen lots of lingerie at a bachelor party, but it was essentially wrapping paper. Lol

    If the ladies will be drinking heavily, even the prudes will have fun. :-)
