Commute bikes was off the road just before Christmas as the head set was shot. Got it back on the road early Jan and managed a day before it was in need of fixing, this time a new shifter - gave up after 50,000+ miles. Got it back last Saturday and this time managed 2 rides - bottom bracket is on the way out, as are the chain and gears so that's another £150 the lighter. Road bike already at bike shop for its normal 3 months service (it came with 365 days of free servicing!) so have unwrapped the tourer.0

I'm so glad to see everyone moving so well in January. I'm just a tad jealous though! I was so looking forward to getting the green light from my doctor last week to go back to exercising, when I broke my toe! January is not being kind to me. Murphy's Law- had my surgery, broke a toe, burned a hand, and now have a crimp in my neck! What else???
Ok, I vented. Now I feel better0 -

With all your racked miles...it's no wonder that you wore your drive train right out and then some! Although I don't have quite the mileage you do, my bike is in need of some tlc too, (cassette, rotors, chain ring, chain)...about $300.00 worth!
Luckily you have a nice backup...Great job!:drinker:0 -

DCMAT - With all the miles you put in, you ought to get on some bike manufacturer's payroll to test new equipment for durability!
