I had a counterproposal to the let's all shame and bash the newbies program that seems to be so popular this time of year. I would like ot propose that we all revive the adopt-a-noob program this year.
For those who don't know the program, on January 1, we swoop in and friend all the newbies posting in the introductions forum. We encourage and support them, and completely indoctrinate them in the fun side of MFP in the outlaws way. We have to act fast before the "Report everyone" crowds get ahold of them, and convert them to their side increasing the number of reporters of fun.
I gave it a try last year, and of the 3-4 noobs I adopted, only one did not rage quit for a retention rate of 25-33% which is not so great. However, the one who remains (MissTerry) is a true convert meaning there is a 100% conversion rate of retained members of the program. That is pretty good statistically.

I don't know. I have tried to adopt a few creepers and they turned out to be, well, really creepy. if I adopt a noob are they going to send me nude photos? if so... I only want nudes if they're hot, is this discrimination?0
