how does music affect your workout - kill or miss

Personally I find I cant get half the results I want with a crummy playlist ... ESPECIALLY in spin class .
I have taken many spin classes over the past couple of years and I have had good and bad classes solely based on music choice.
I find when the instructor plays slow music I can barely get through the class . However when they play music this a high beat count per minuet weather it be metal , top 40 or anything club related , I find that my energy soars .
What are your experiences -

Without music I would be useless!!
I have forgot my headphones to the gym a couple of times and my memory of them sessions is a very bad one haha!
I find music helps you get them last reps out or finish that last 5 minutes cardio, without it I would probably just give up0 -
completely agree! There are a few spin instructors at our gym who have such bad music I have to use my ipod if I'm forced to take their class!0

ouch , trust me I've been there , done that .... what's even worst is forgetting your headphones in the car .... to be honest I cant even complete a solo cardio workout without it ....... that leaves me praying that there will be some form of cardio related class on .
omg YES!!! one of the worst spin classes I've ever attended was one where the instructor played a low slow instrumental music style throughout the full class.. that was the one exception where I actually left the class - it was probably one of the worst gym experiences of my life.0
