I hope you've all enjoyed your holidays! Not sure about anyone else.. but I definitely gained back some of the pounds I previously lost! and before I get carried away and gain back everything I have worked so hard to lose I decided I will stop it right there and get back on the right path again!
For the new year I would like to lose 15 pounds by the end of March.. that's 5 lbs a month. To achieve my goal I will:
1. start logging everything again
2. Stay below my daily calorie goals
3. Run!
4. Also incorporate strength training into my workouts
Also a non weight related goal is to run a half marathon in under 2 hours (all signed up for one in March!)
What are your 2014 goals??!!

I also gained over the holidays. Really it was my birthday in November and from then on. Ugg but back at it. Goals for this year :
1. Do a triathlon
2. Get down to 15-18% body fat by April 1. ( at around 24 right now.)
1st monthly goal is to go 31 days without cheating defined by staying under calories and eating clean.
I have a problem with over doing it on the weekends and I really want to break that habit.
Day 2 done.0 -

Hi everyone! Please add me as a friend if you'd like.
My goals are to lose 5 pounds in January to start with. My sister and I have a long awaited trip to Jamaica in February and I'm using that as inspiration.
I'd like to lose a BUNCH of weight and to do it in a healthy way. I'm a member at a gym so the way I'm going to do it is go to the gym at least 3 times a week.
Good luck everyone!0 -
Hello everyone! I love seeing the numbers on a spreadsheet and I'm hoping it will keep me focused : ) My goals for January are to lose 5 to 8 lbs and I started walking with the Walk at Home Leslie Sansone videos so one goal is to do them at least 5 days a week. Good luck everyone : )0

Spreadsheet question. Are we supposed to put our END goal weight or just the goal weight we want for the month?0

Just the one for the month0 -
5 days going strong. At least I got through one weekend. Weekends are my Achilles heal. If I can conquer them I can do anything.0

My goal for 2014 is to eat within my calorie range for "just one day" (for a total of 365 days), on days when I indulge myself I will not be a failure I will have had a "one day" setback.0

OMG I love this!! I'm stealing it!!
I will be losing 40 pounds this year! I'm hoping to achieve my goal by my birthday in June, but I will work at it as long as I have to. I am working on becoming a runner. I can now jog for two minutes at a time! When I started in November I could jog for about 30 seconds
Good luck to everyone!0 -
My goals are
Weigh 199 by May 2nd
Become a health fanatic
Love physical fitness
Be just a little bit better husband then I was the day before.0 -
New here and there are so great goals0
-
First day of c25k completed. So on target so far lol!!!!!0
-
I am not sure about the whole year (do not think that far ), but for the next two months I am planning to finish c25k and run 5k on March 1st ( run, not walk! )
I hope to loose 10-15 lbs by that time by watching what I eat and excersizing. We have gym membership, but it's hard for me to find time with 10 hour work day, 1 hour commute and family. I escape on weekends and once or twice during the weekdays.
Eventually I'd like to get down to 135-140 lbs where I belonged all my adult life.. If I do it by summer- great! I'll start reading about maintaining then .0 -

So far I hate this thing, but I hope I'll learn to enjoy it!0 -
And if you guys complain about you holidays, think about mine: we are orthodox, which means our Christmas is on Jan. 7th. But we start celebrating with the majority in the US on Dec 23, then celebrate New Year, and then our Christmas. Three weeks of food and drinks!!!:drinker:0

I have gained about 5lbs over the festive period and have been back on the health horse since the 28th Dec!
1) Plan for January is to get back to my pre-festive weight then commit to getting the rest off.
2) Continue to workout 4 times a week
3) Drink water
4) Improve flexibility0 -
Hi, I just found this group. I thought the idea of A Goal A Month made a lot more sense then a New Year's Resolution.
My goals for January are:
NO Soda or Candy. Get to the gym 4 times per week. Log every day and everything. I have so many food journals that make it to lunch and then nothing. I quit logging once I got off track. Funny how the body still knows what I did.
As for how many pounds I want to lose. I will set a goal on the spreadsheet, but that is not my main focus. If I eat right, exercise and make good life changes, it will happen. I know this works and I'll take what I get.0 -
The dialog is dying out a bit on this topic. Don't let your commitment die out with it!
Remember, "Goals are dreams... with a deadline!"
The more deadlines, the more opportunities to keep yourself honest.
I've always been against the concept of New Year's resolutions. For lots of people, committing to lose weight as a resolution is an annual thing that shouldn't really be annual.
It's like guys who buy chocolates and flowers for their Others on Valentine's Day and NOTHING for the rest of the year.
Though I just might be sore over the fact that for the next couple weeks I'm going to have to WAIT for a treadmill at the gym as opposed to being able to jump right on one.
I've started doing what I call a New Month's Revolution (note the "V", REVOLUTION). Let's face it, people only use "resolution" in reference to the new year.
"Resolution" says "I'm going to try to do this".
"Revolution" says "I will fight, fight, fight and change my status quo, replacing it with a new, more awesome set of circumstances."0 -
i know weigh in for the spread sheet is tomorrow but my weigh in is a thursday and being my first one i was eager to get on the scales, i realised i might expect a reasonable first week weigh in but i have lost 7 pounds, is this normal for week 1!! either way i am happy0

Good job talor72. Yes, the first week is usually a higher number. Water retention. I personally think it's a wonderful way to keep you on week 2. Talk about motivation.
If you follow your eating and exercise plan and keep drinking your water you will keep losing.
Wishing you a wonderful 2nd week.:flowerforyou:0 -
My goals are
1. To hit the 80 kg mark by the end of Jan
2. To lose the remaining 10kg by end of July. That's aiming for 2 kg per month weight loss with a bit of leaway for setbacks.
3. To get more of my 5-a-day. Started this week by having smoothies
4. More excercise: Run 3-4 x per week, replace 1 run by a swim every now and again, do Pilates 3 x pw. 1 rest day pw.
5. To be able to run 10 km by the end of July. Currently doing about 4 or 5 km on a walk/run.0 -
Goals this year.... be better at logging my food. Lift weights. Eat greens. Get below 200 by my 14th wedding anniversary in June (things have been slow, so that is a very attainable goal). Run a half marathon then start training for a full.0
-
Whilst I was away I set my 2014 goals, I want to improve my 5k and 1 miles times, lose another 40lbs and run 450miles in total. #hard work and dedication.0
-
Figure out how to maintain, now that I've lost it!0
-
I've readjusted my January goal to one less pound from the 10 day setback off sickness. 3 pounds in the next two weeks. I can to it!0
-
Hello! I'm a newcomer to this group. I don't plan to lose a great amount of weight but I'd like to lose a solid 10-13 lbs. I've found that these last few pound are NOT easy to get rid of. So.. here are some goals I will set:
1. Log meals each day and word toward a 1200 (NET calorie goal)/ 1330 overall.
2. Cardio 3 days a week
3. Strength 2-3 days a week
4. Rest one day
5. Don't overeat. I've been an athlete for most of my life so this used to not matter but is catching up with me
6. Enter into 5+ running races (5K/10K/half marathon).
Excited to be a part of this group! Please feel free to keep me accountable!0
