Challenge Board For Team Rick
Character Description
Rick Grimes is the series' central character. A former sheriff’s deputy in King's County, a small Georgia town, Rick is smart, calm, just, a sharpshooter, and a good friend, husband and father — but flawed. He sees most problems as black or white and will often stubbornly cling to his personal strong moral code, which results in his not always making the best decisions. Rick is a natural leader, someone his fellow survivors will turn to in a crisis, confident in his guidance, even when he at times doubts himself. His overwhelming need to do the right thing and protect those who can't protect themselves may pull him away from his family, causing cracks of tension within his marriage and in his relationship with his son. His frustrations about leading his group and keeping them safe gradually change him into a darker character.

    Week One Challenge Feb 3-8

As a member of Team Rick you need to be prepared if you want to survive and be a strong leader in the Zombie Apocalypse. Cardio, weight training and balanced eating are all important aspects of staying strong, fast and uneaten.

    Cardio:*
You will begin this first week by completing a minimum of 240 minutes of cardio, which should include at least 60 minutes of combat related exercise such as a martial art like kickboxing.
    Weight Training:**
To preserve lean muscle mass while eating in a deficit, or to gain muscle while eating at maintenance or a surplus, you should start a weight training routine if you haven't already. Weight train or resistance train a minimum 30 minutes 3 times a week.
    Food Intake***
Although food is hard to come by in the apocalypse, you still need to fuel your body properly. Stay within your set calorie goals, maintaining a weekly average. That means you can have a cheat day and go over, as long as you have other days to make up for the surplus. Ideally you should get 1 gram of protein per lean body mass and .35 grams of healthy fats per total body weight. Set your calories and macro targets if you haven't done so already.

Complete the above challenges and send a message to your team captain by Midnight Central Saturday February 8th. The message should include the following:
    1. A short summary of your goals for the duration of the challenge, including your starting stats.
    2. Total Cardio minutes completed out of 240. You will recieve one point for completing the minimum. Completing extra minutes will contribute to your chances at MVP.
    3. Total Strength Training minutes completed out of 90. You will recieve one point for completing the minimum. Completing extra minutes will contribute to your chances at MVP.
    4. Whether or not you stayed within your weekly calorie goal. You will recieve one point for staying at goal.

Your totals will be added to the rest of your team's and with Rick's kills from the December 1st Mid season finale (0) see http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1162909-episode-recap-season-4-part-1-finale and then the total will be divided among the number of team members. Team with the highest average number will win the week and members get to decide on and impose a punishment exercise to all of the other teams, which all players must complete, except the immune MVP's. Winners, new challenges and punishment exercises will be posted on this thread on Monday Feb 10th.

Don't forget to watch the show on Sunday Feb 9th and root for Rick to kill as many Walkers and living enemies as possible. Your team will get 1 point for each Walker kill and 2 points for each living enemy kill to be applied to your team's scores next week.

    Week Two Challenge Feb 10-15

    1. Cardio:
You will begin this second week by completing a minimum of  250 minutes of cardio, which should include at least minutes of combat related exercise such as a martial art like kickboxing.
    2. Weight Training
Weight train or resistance train a minimum 30 minutes 3 times a week.
    3. Food Intake
Stay within your set calorie goals, maintaining a weekly average. That means you can have a cheat day and go over, as long as you have other days to make up for the surplus.
    4. Do your punishment exercise(s) to be decided by Mika and Lizzie and include them in either your cardio or strength totals. The MVPs from each team are exempt.
    5. On the episode, Michonne, Carl and Rick were all on foot and did a great deal of walking. So your show inspired challenge this week is to get some extra walking in over what you would normally do. Park further from the store or take the stairs instead of the elevator. Also, we saw that Michonne will be reunited with Carl and Rick. To celebrate this happy reunion, from now on you may share any extra cardio or strength minutes with a needy teammate. They can use the points towards their own totals in the challenge, but you keep them for MVP purposes.

Complete the above challenges and send a message to your team captain by Midnight Central Saturday February 15th. The message should include your total cardio minutes completed out of 250 total strength training minutes completed out of 90 and whether or not you stayed within your weekly calorie goal. You will recieve one point for each.

Your totals will be added to the rest of your team's and with Rick kills from February 9th episode (Michonne =26, Carl=4, Everyone else= 0)and then the total will be divided among the number of team members. Team with the highest average number will win the week and members get to decide on and impose a punishment exercise to all of the other teams, which all players must complete, except the immune MVP's. Winners, new challenges and punishment exercises will be posted on this thread on Monday Feb 17.

Don't forget to watch the show on Sunday Feb 16th and root for Rick to kill as many Walkers and living enemies as possible. Your team will get 1 point for each Walker kill and 2 points for each living enemy kill, to be applied to your team's scores next week.

    Week Five Challenge March 2nd-8th

This week we got a peek into Daryl and Beths lives. We saw them break down, we saw where they came from and we saw them literally burn the past down so they could move forward. Beth says to Daryl, " Stay who you are now, not who you were" This can mirror our own lives as well. Last week we all opened up about our past and told where we came from and now it's time to focus on our goals. This is now week 5 and we are half way through the challenge. Remember your goals for the challenge? Where are you with those goals? Beth showed that she has grown and survived and I believe you are all growing and capable of reaching your goals and its time that you pushed yourselves a little farther. Cardio is raised 10 minutes this week.

Otherwise the challenge this week is as follows:

    1. Cardio:
You will begin this fifth week by completing a minimum of 260 minutes of cardio, which should include at least 60 minutes of combat related exercise such as a martial art like kickboxing.
    2. Weight Training
Weight train or resistance train a minimum 30 minutes 3 times a week.
    3. Food Intake
Stay within your set calorie goals, maintaining a weekly average. That means you can have a cheat day and go over, as long as you have other days to make up for the surplus.
    4. As this weeks winners, you have 24 hours to decide on the punishment exercises.
    5. On the episode, Daryl got a bit crazy with the golf clubs this week and showed us that you can get a good work out with golf. Here is a work out you can do for fun and it will help you with your strength or cardio for this week. It is an optional exercise and can be included with your cardio or strength.

    6. As before, you may share any extra cardio or strength minutes with a needy teammate. They can use the points towards their own totals in the challenge, but you keep them for MVP purposes.

Complete the above challenges and send a message to your team captain by Midnight Central Saturday March 8th. The message should your total cardio minutes completed out of 260. Total Strength Training minutes completed out of 90 and whether or not you stayed within your weekly calorie goal. You will recieve one point for each.

Your totals will be added to the rest of your team's and with kills from March 1st (Daryl 6, Beth 2) episode and then the total will be divided among the number of team members. Team with the highest average number will win the week and members get to decide on and impose a punishment exercise to all of the other teams, which all players must complete, except the immune MVP's. Winners, new challenges and punishment exercises will be posted on this thread on Monday March 10th

  • Posting from my phone at work so I'll be brief! The week's punishment is a quick circuit training routine:

1 min jumping jacks; 10 sit ups/roll ups/crunches; 1 min jump rope; 1 min side plank (30 sec each side); 5 burpees.
