just curious...

how many of you lift exclusively and how many do cardio on alternate days. (I'm thinking I will lift 3x week, HIIT 2x)

I lift 3 times per week and skate 3 times per week for 2-3 hours at a time (I play roller derby). I do the lifting to build strength for the roller derby, but I feel that sometimes all that skating takes away some of my strength gain potential. I do continue to see improvement, just not as fast as others who do less cardio, I think.

I do stronglifts 3x per week and i also run 3-5x a week. If I'm gonna run on a lift day, I always lift first (that's where I want the most of my energy to be focused on). Running always takes the backseat to lifting for me. I'll throw a yoga and spin class every now and again just because.

That's exactly what I did during my 2 months of SL - lifted MWF, HIIT on T&TH.

I just started 5/3/1 and will do cardio after my workout a couple of days per week.

I like lifting 3-4 days a week, then throwing in 2-3 high intensity cardio workouts (either HIIT, or some workout DVDs for conditioning). I try to mix it up a bit. (The cool trick is mixing the cardio with the core workout. 2 for 1!) I'll also have 1-2 mobility sessions (yoga or dynamic stretching) and I foam roll about 10 minutes every day or so.

    Yah...

But admittedly I have started HIIT in the new year...surely I can do 21mins of it and I wont die...at least I hope not...can't be sure after how I felt Tuesday.

I used to lift only from Sept to December M/W/F
Now same lift schedule but adding in HIIT Tu/Thu and maybe Sat who knows.

Cardio is evil. I've started throwing in some prowler runs and kettlebell swings. But it doesn't mean I have to enjoy them!

I'm currently on a cut so I have kicked cardio up from 1x/week to 2x/week. I usually do some kind of HIIT or do some kind of Crossfit WOD.

Lifting is still my priority & I do that about 4x/week.

I've started adding cardio at least twice a week. It also depends on how I feel after my lifting days.

I just switched to Wendlers 5/3/1 as well (first round), and I've added in sprints at the end of my lower body days, so 2 days per week.

I only do as much as I feel, usually 5-8 sprints for 30 seconds, with 30 seconds of walking/slow running in between. My HIIT sessions are rarely longer than 10 minutes.

I also do one slow, longer run (usually at least 60 minutes) on the weekend just for fun :)

If I feel like I need more cardio, I just lift faster.

I'm just starting out, started SL monday and I'll do my 3rd workout today! I do a 5 minute Fitness Blender HIIT workout right after my lifting and Tuesday I did JMBR cardio 1 (30 minutes) and yesterday I did a 20 minute high intensity cardio workout using my Sworkit app. Weekends I just stay active with cleaning the house, walking, hiking, biking or whatever else I want to do with the family. I feel with 30 more pounds still to lose I can use a little cardio added in.
