Losing the mindset about calories

When I read in FMD that there is no such things as calories and that food is better looked at from its nutritional value, I was shocked. A book who doesn't want me to worry about calories??? That is absurd. I thought as I was reading the book that maybe it will be a low carb book, then I looked at the first phase carbs and fruit!!! WOW!! I then looked at everything else. I decided to add up a typical day for a person that needs to lose 50 plus pounds and I ate 1600 calories my first day. I was stuffed. I didn't even blink an eye at not having sweets all day..first time in 4 days without chocolate. It wasn't the calories though that has impressed me but the new take on calories and food..this is an excellent diet and I can't wait to finally repair my damaged metabolism.
