Hi, new to group and I have regained and lost yo-yo diet since my bypass in 2003. My highest weight was 325 and lowest 175 currently 212. I am 36 and have a bad work schedule. My biggest issue is addiction to cookies. I am so evil my family can't stand me when I try to take them out of my diet. I am not talking 1 or 2 cookies I wake up eat 3-4 with a cup of coffee. Then have more throughout the day on ave. A dozen cookies daily. I seriously could live on cookies and pretzels and ice. Its horrible and embarassing I have tried several times to cut cookies from diet and always go back. I cant eat just 1and walk away. I just keep thinking about it until I go get another. So I tried just not baking or keeping them in the house. At these times I am evil mood swings tears. Then I am ashamed. Also if I have successfully stopped eating cookies pms/period comes and it starts all over again. I want to know if anyone else has similiar issue and how to get past this. I used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week and that balanced my input-output so I didnt gain but I have severe lower back and sciatic pain that travels at its worst to toes fingers on left side of my body. Which hasn't helped the situation. Anyone please help tell me your diet and success. I already know how unhealthy this is I would like help to stop.
thanks Debbie

I have read many times that it takes 21 days to kick a carb habit. Well, for some of us, it never goes away. This is what works for me - I keep Quest bars and WonderSlim hot chocolate and shakes at home and at work. When I get the urge for something sweet, I reach for one of these. The low carbs and high protein content satisfy the craving and keep me fuller for a longer period of time. I feel so much better physically and emotionally after eating these products. They are a little pricey, but I am definitely worth the investment. Maybe give it a try?? :flowerforyou:
As for the ice - have you talked with your doctor? There is actually some type of deficiency (iron, maybe??) that is indicated by a craving for ice.
Let us know how things are going for you!
