What supplements are you using and do you still work out during your menstrual cycle?
I use a multivitamin , coconut oil, MCT oil, vitamin d3, omegas and follow ketosis.
Thank you for your responses !!!

I take creatine, a multi, fish oil, a greens drink, d3 and c in winter (it gets awful gray here, today was the first day I spent more than an hour out in forever!) and preworkout (and of course some whey). Hasn't affected my cycle any as far as I know (but I do remember I'd get worse cramps if I wasn't taking the fish oil). If anything, it's made me more regular and I barely get any pain anymore during my cycle.
I still workout and am mostly able to go full strength while even bleeding heavily (although it's a lil awkward at times? xD) . It really depends on how you feel. To me the gym is even more important when I have PMS cuz it allows me to work off my emotions on the iron rather than lashing out at people! haha.0 -
I don't really take much in the line of supplements, just a general vitamin. I will occasionally have a Clif builder bar for the added protein or a protein shake (I use Trutein) when I need something high in protein to fill out my day. I try to keep a healthy and varied diet with a good amount of fruit and veggies, nuts, whole grains, lean meats, and healthy fats. I don't feel like I'm missing any nutrients when I eat more whole foods so I don't find I need to add much else in.
Yes, I still work out during my period. It doesn't really bother me any so I don't have a reason not to. I know a lot of people who have found that exercise can help with the cramping.0 -
I use whey, omega 3, MCT oil, vit d.
I have no problem working through my TOM, in fact I once heard from a strength coach that you may be a little weaker during ovulation than TOM so good to know your whole cycle and how it affects you
I have a high fat diet which I think helps my cycle and keeps it all regular0 -
I use protein (whey, casein, egg mix) omega 3, D3, multi, and magnesium. I don't really get TOM due to how my HBC works, but I wouldn't change my workouts based on my cycle.0

I work out whenever. I might put it off by a day if I'm feeling particularly crampy, miserable or filthy but otherwise fine.
I take creatine, fish oil, a multivit, I was taking glucosamine but just ran out so will see how the knees feel (if at all different. the research is undecided) and not a supplement but I do have about 1/2 tsp a day of ground cinnamon which a) I like and b) supposedly acts as a natural blood sugar regulator (I have PCOS symptoms, which can be a risk factor for obesity etc). I'm trying to get my protein to 150g a day..0 -
I don't use supplements...closest I get is protien powder/muscle milk in my smoothie if I have one...
ToM...if I have one yes...my BC usually prevents it but when I did have a cycle I still worked out...even when it was so bad I used 2super plus (did treego one weekend)....that doesn't hold me back ever.0 -
I saw this topic the other day, but at the time I couldn't respond. So, wanted to come back and say, no. Not really. I have TRIED to workout during my cycle, but the last time I tried, the cramps and everything after were so severe I was nearly debilitated. I just couldn't move or function it hurt so much. So for me, not in the first few days but after that I think I would be fine. As for supplements, I use a protein powder occasionally, try to remember to take a multi, D and B's and calcium. But tha't's about it.0
