You know what I read with interest was the AMA's opinion about exercise and obesity ...

Since I was young, I have always been an athlete. I played sports in school ... soccer, tennis, basketball, downhill skiing, softball, etc. ... and through my adulthood I've been involved at various times at marathon walking (10 miles a day), rowing, golf, tennis, gym work, etc. .... And many times, even at my peek of involvement, I was overweight, even obese.

It used to make me crazy.

Not anymore. I am glad that I was exercising because even though it might not have kept me thin, it may jut have kept my co-morbids at bay. Not sure ... but as I read the AMA guidelines, it is clear that exercise alone doesn't create enough weightloss to treat obesity.

I am now working up to 5 days a day, and eventually 7 days, because I have done no exercise for more than two years. I got a very inexpensive rowing machine for my house and I really love it.
