..... I swear this Amazon review is EXACTLY how I feel when I have a gluten reaction ... granted, this is just relative to "sugarless" candy... but still... it's worth the read... and hopefully all of you will get a good laugh of sorts.... I know I did! Just knowing I don't feel like that anymore ... well, I can read the story and just totally relate to how the guy felt... :)

Here's the link.... scroll to the top for the review. :)

Those reviews have me cackling like a hyena!

Also suddenly glad my digestive issues seem to be the opposite of the typical. Not that being clogged up is fun either, but seems a bit less likely to lead to public humiliation!

    Wanna hear something worse?
I was looking for a reasonable bread for my family while at the regular market. I found one that said "100% whole wheat, no sugar added".
The second ingredient? MALITOL. Seriously?? Sugar alcohols in "100%whole wheat bread"? That's the same stuff in those gummy bears!

If you'e gluten sensitive, be sure to stay away from that sorry trash!

I was disgusted when I realized just about every bread has sugar added to it. All I can think to ask is, why?

Exactly my reaction. My local tortillas now have HFCS. WTF? I stopped buying them for hubs.
And also bizarre that this company, one of the big ones, but I can't remember which one, swapped the corn syrup/sugar for frigging MALITOL! Why does it need it at all??

I have a theory that these companies know their products cause irregularity and they're trying to mess with the formula for that reason, but that could only be true if most people react the way I do to them, meanwhile it seems a lot of people instead have the opposite reaction.

Next time I go on a bread binge I might have to buy some of the hellbears, though. One of the reviews claims their laxative effect is stronger than anything you can get OTC or outside a military weapons lab.

Anything with yeast in it needs some sugar to grow.... why you crave sugar when you have a yeast infection!

But the "more important" reason in manufacturers eye - Americans have a huge sweet tooth, cultivated by no other than food manufacturers! They make their foods addictive so you will crave them! Stay away from processed food for a while ( a few months) and then eat something processed you used to eat - most of the time I will taste like crap after eating real food for a while... I never believed this until I did it myself.

A bit, sure. But not corn syrup. Not HFCS and not in the amounts added. for sure.

Totally agree, but you can't make home bread without adding a little sugar and have it turn out, from my understanding!

Actually, from what I've been reading it's NOT necessary. But is common. Ezekiel breads have no sugar, for example.
But yes, from what I understand the yeast "likes" sugar. Not nearly as much as is added, I'm sure.
