Does anyone here wear a fitband or HRM? I'm just wondering what an average burn during these videos are?
I have a sedentary job, I do try and walk my dogs 2 miles each night (weather has NOT been permitting lately, bleah), and other than working out, I unfortunately don't get to my feet very often. Desk Jockey.
Any ways MFP set my goal calories for one pound of weight loss/week to 1200. I tried that, and my hunger was RAAAAAGING. That translated to me raging. I like my food. I've been overeating my calories every day and logging around 1750-1900 daily on *mostly* healthy, natural foods. I lost three pounds during the first week of P90X3 (I'm assuming some of this was water because I cut some salt out of my diet). I do try and limit my portions, I have a food scale so I know I'm being accurate, and I'm not that worried about it since I can actually see my body already changing shape. I was just wondering what everyone elses' experiences are so far?

I have a Polar. I typically burn around 220-260 cals in higher intensity workouts like CVX and The Warrior and maybe 170-200 on things like Yoga or Dynamix. I use the calorie goals from the nutrition guide so my daily goal is 1800.
I'm no expert, but I think 1200 is kinda low when you're doing a program like P90X3. This program makes me so hungry! I can't imagine how anyone could stick to that.0 -
1200 calorie is the MFP minimum for small/sedentary people without any exercise whatsoever. Intense workout for 30 minutes a day should add at least a few hundred calories.
Have you checked what the p90x nutrition guide suggests for you?

The lowest is 1500 calorie for ANYBODY who is doing the program. Unless you are already under 130 lb, you probably fall into the second category, which suggest 1800 calorie. The sounds of it, you are already eating around this level , and having results so that is great.0 -

Calories burned obviously depends on body type, weight, and the amount of exersion during the workout. Every one will be different, and I have noticed differences even between the same workouts. I can offer my results based on a 180-lbs male, but I am sure they would be different from your results.
CVX - 520 calories
Agility X - 590
Challenge - 390
Total Synergistics - 430
Accelerator - 375
Warrior - 475
Isometrics - 235
Dynamics - 282
Eccentric Upper - 345
That is as far as I have progressed to date. I substituted running for Yoga and Pilates. Hope this helps a little bit.

That does help. I just wondered what people's averages were. I try to eat my workout calories back (and then some) for muscle gain, but I just feel that the 150 calories MFP gives for 45 minutes of Strength Training isn't accurate since in P90X3 it seems that cardio/strength is all jumbled, and combo anaerobic and aerobic workouts increase your metabolism significantly more than traditional either/or workouts.
I'm not really worried about my calories. I'm only weighing once every two weeks when I take measurements. It was more curiosity. I feel like my appetite increased tenfold with these workouts.0
