For me, there is no contest.
WILD.
MAINE.
BLUEBERRIES.
I used to eat about 25 pounds of them a year back in the good ol' Pine Tree State. Here? Can't ever get them.
What about you all?

Ding! Ding! Ding! Correct answer.
BLUEBERRIES.....my precious!!!!
Would you believe i even looked into growing them myself. Nevermind that I live in the heart of a bustling city. Yeah, never panned out, but man-oh-man do I miss them and eat them like crazy when I'm back stateside. Occasionally, when the season is right, we'll spring for the ridiculous price for a palmful of the them from the special, eclectic produce market two neighborhoods away. And sometimes we find frozen in the organic stores, but not often...and frozen, meh.0 -
Honestly nothing. Everywhere I've been fortunate enough to live in the last decade or so (China, Japan and Bulgaria) has had much better food than Australia in my opinion.
However I do really miss the amazing pineapples I could buy in China when they were in season. I LOVE pineapple. And now in Bulgaria I miss good Asian food (especially great Indian). I could buy both pineapples and Indian in Australia but I don't particularly associate them with the place.
If you love berries I suggest Bulgaria in the summer. The fruit, particularly the berries blew me away when I first got here.0 -
I am finding it easier and easier to get "comfort food" items here in Japan but I'd have to say that I miss a chicken restaurant we have in Canada called Swiss Chalet. It's not glamorous but they have this incredible dipping sauce!
I also miss my mom's cooking and my dad's pancakes with real maple syrup of course!0 -

Goes without saying. I don't sit around yearning for these foods, but when I talk to my family and they mention them, I definitely miss a good ole fashioned Southern breakfast with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Or Southern fried chicken. I don't know if it's the food or nostalgia (mmmm, I'm leaning towards it just being the food, I can practically smell it right now. ) And, well, Thanksgiving dinner. To be honest, I could make these things here, but it'd just feel off (and country sausage would be a challenge involving a visit to a butcher and spice shops to grind and prepare the sausage, but I digress). It's actually "more special" to have to wait so long to go back for a visit for these things. (Nevermind the pounds I pack on.:grumble: )0 -
Definitely the Tex-Mex. It's much too spicy for the Northern folks here. But I love to indulge when I'm back in the States. :happy:0

Juicy bbq steaks! and real bacon that goes crispy when you fry it.... I can get these here if I pay double or more, but don't often do that!0

Apricots and peaches. And fresh seafood! We're landlocked and all the seafood we get is frozen.0

I miss EVERYTHING! Pastries from Greggs, Irn Bru, decent bag of chips (IE NOT FRIES) chocolate, curries. OH everything. Just everything!0

When I am in Thailand, I miss guacamole, steamed artichokes, real sourdough bread, good cheeses. California comfort food.0
