Food Prep

HI ladies!! I hope you all haven't found it too difficult to start preparing your food ahead of time.
Like Lisa says "Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail". I have to say I feel my pants are getting bigger and I feel
more energetic since starting to plan my food 2 weeks ago. I still eat a lot of foods I enjoy and I
also mess up from time to time but I get back on track during my next meal. I try not to allow myself
to have a "cheat" meal yet, since I'm not as mentally strong in saying "no" as of yet.
If you are having trouble planning your meals, let Nikki or I know and we can give you some pointers.
You have to at least set aside ONE hour a week for yourself to plan!!! If you REALLY want this then
don't waste ANY more TIME! I waster the last 3 years and I am ready to change. Time is going to pass
regardless so why not start now on the healthy track. My husband still doesn't want to eat what I make
so I told him he can fend for himself, I can no longer do it. I LOVE good, flavorful, filling food and I'm reminding
myself how to get back on track. I ALWAYS ate good until 2011 when I changed schools and everyday had to show up and work
at a place that I HATED, I was stressed and very depressed with my job. I had a lot of life changing events happen from 2010-2011 where I turned to food for comfort. I forgot how to make meals that I loved and decided to only serve my family. I am now
learning to love to prepare food again. Don't WASTE another day avoiding or despising meal prep. I did for far too long. If you need help, just ask : )

    Hey there!

I enjoy meal prepping but don't do it as often as I know I should. My husband and I take turns weekly cooking. I love his weeks to cook, I can come home from work and just take my dog for a walk and then eat and relax. When it is my week, I struggle to feel like I am not taking care of my family because I still want my walk after work but my husband and kids are just waiting for their meal.

Plus I clean the kitchen almost nightly and do the regular homework help, bath, etc with the kids that most moms do most of that work. Prepping my meals would make it so much more easier to have dinner ready at an appropriate time and still allow myself to get my walk and clear my head time that I look forward to at the end of my day.

Well I am maxed out for my grocery budget for January. I am trying really hard not to go over. My husband said he will help me this week use up all the random stuff we have in the fridge. I am looking forward to the challenge. I only have 5 dinners left until February starts and I can hit the grocery store. I even made chicken enchiladas last night because who knew I had everything I needed for that meal.

Anyway- I am just rambling...but I really like the sound of this group. Cheers :drinker:
