Seeking ladies who bulk!

Hi ladies. My name is Diana and I am in desperate need for lady friends who bulk! As you all probably know bulking for women is a pretty foreign idea IRL and on MFP. I just started bulking 3 weeks ago, but already feel awkward posting updates about trying to gain weight and being disappointed if I don't as most on my FL are trying to lose. I am determined to do this but would love to make some connections with those who are in the same boat.
A little background: I'm a 30 year old mother to a 3 year old and 8 month old. I started weightlifting last August and fell in love instantly. Currently I am doing the PHUL program 4 times a week and trying my hand at eating 2200 calories. After 3 weeks it looks like this might be my maintenance number and I'm probably going to up it to 2400-2500. (I'm also new to counting my calories, but I've been hitting my macros pretty consistently and think I've got that part down.)
Anyways, let me know if anyone would like to be friends. Thank you!

People's goals change all the time. If you are really into this- it may be seasonal- or competition driven. The more you immurse yourself in this stuff- the more you realize people are on their own journey's and it doesn't affect you as much.
When you ONLY deal with people stuck in the "I'm trying to lose weight" rut- and that's ALL they do- they never get it- and it's useless trying to connect with them.
So hang out here- make friends with other's who are into lifting and understand the ebb and flow. It gets easier the longer you do it- mostly because you seriously stop giving a **** about what other people think.
Good job on making the switch to the bulk- it's a difficult process. Keep it up and stay plugged in- it will help!!!0 -

Thanks Jo. I've lurked this forum for a bit before finally deciding to bite the bullet and do my bulk. You ladies are definitely an inspiration for me. I just lurked on your bulking log as well. Benching 135? *Drools* After 5 months I'm only up to 81. Can't wait to see where a little muscle can take me. Especially on my lower body as I tend to be stronger up top.0 -
Well, search no more you came to the right place
I just started phul a week ago and love it!! (exchanged some of the assistance moves though, cause who needs 3 calve exercises a week?)
I've been trying to build for 2 months and I still didn't find the perfect calorie intake... on 3100 right now... but may have to go up
Will send you a request0 -

Teehee, I beat you to the FR
I know - 3 calve exercises? I thought the same thing. I added some more glute work, but other than that I stick to the program and love it. I'm so happy this group is here. You guys rock.0 -
I guess that answers my question about how you like PHUL. I do like the program although I'm doing a slightly modified version of it now since I need to swap out some moves. I thought it was a great way to get in to an upper/lower split though.
Some great ladies on this board so I'm sure you will get a great number of new friends! My bulk got cut short but it was nice while it lasted. As long as I can successfully manage to cut, I think I will go for it again in the Fall.0 -
You certainly came to the right place for bulking buddies!0

I will most likely not bulk again until the end of summer. I have bulked before, sort of, but had to quit due to a shoulder injury before I could get it all figured out. I am now cutting since I still can't push as hard as I'd like with my shoulder.
I say "sorta bulked" because I was eating 2300 + exercise calories which should have made me gain .5lb a week (calculated from adding cals to what I was losing on during my cut). I lost weight. About 2lbs in 2 months which isn't a lot but certainly a ways from up 4-5lbs like I was aiming for.
Now I'm on 1750 + exercise cals and I've lost 1.6lbs in three weeks (which confirms that 2300 should have been appropriate). This is where NEAT comes into it I think. More energy = more movement, warmth, fidgeting, etc. My lifts and energy have definitely faltered going back to cutting and I need more sleep.
Current stats
Squat 5x5: 95 (high of 110)
Bench 5x5: 90 (high of 95)
Deadlift 1x5: 140 (high of 150)
OHP 5x5: 50 (high of 65)
Well that was a long ramble. Anyway, friend me if you would like, and good luck on your bulk!0 -

Thank you ladies for replying! And lilawolf, it's good to see another who can bench almost as much as she can squat. I've always thought I was odd in that respect as I usually see the squatting numbers much higher than bench. Can't wait to get some muscle and get my lower body into gear!0 -

You guys should know that casey was the one that turned me on to PHUL. I was asking around for a program after stalling out on stronglifts. Also needed more variety and was looking for a program I could do at home. I built a home gym in my garage and really liked how this one was laid out. So thank you again my friend! You've been so helpful to me.0 -
Hi Diana, this is my first bulk too. I've also been lurking the fboard for awhile, reading everything and picking up a ton of information, but I've been too shy to introduce myself since I feel like such a beginner. Feel free to add me -- I'd love to have some friends on here who are working toward the same goals that I am.0
