Guidelines

I hesitate to use "rules" but I feel there needs to be some kind of guidelines for the group.
1. Be courteous: Be courteous of other members. This means refrain from mean spirited comments, arguing etc.. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don't agree with them, then ignore it. If you feel you must make it an issue, then I'd recommend running for Congress. And unlike in Congress, if you become too much of a pain in the *kitten*, you will be removed.
2. Participation is encouraged! That's the whole point of this group. I am starting a thread for upcoming races/events. I understand not everyone is a runner and I also understand that not every runner can do a marathon. So when you suggest a race, try to suggest one that most can participate in. There are a lot of races that have multiples races/walks combined and these would be ideal.
3. Keep it tasteful: We're all adults so I don't expect it to be G-rated, but try to keep from offending people. If someone complains to me or another moderator we'll inform you but too many complaints and you will be removed.
4. Keep it personal: A side benefit to this is to raise money for causes. So if there is a race that is near and dear to your heart, then let us know when you suggest a race!
5. Try new things: If you're not a runner but want to be, then this is a great place to start! There are varying fitness levels in this group so tap into the knowledge and enthusiasm. I love seeing new runners (although I still consider myself a new runner) and love helping people discover the joys of running. Additionally, if you run all the time but don't bike, why not give it a try? I know there are a couple in the group who only bike so I'd like to get some biking events on the agenda.
6. Spread the word: If you have friends nearby, let them know about this group. The more the better!
