On the days I lift I have no appetite afterwards. In the old days I would have celebrated this but I now know I need to come close to calorie/macro goals and therefore I make myself eat, though I don't feel like it.
A couple of questions:
Anyone else have this experience and if so do you force feed?
Secondly, if I eat when I am hungry (and conversely, don't make myself when I'm not) isn't that a more natural way to drop the weight? I have POUNDS of body fat (I won't say weight) to lose and wonder if this is my body trying to shed the fat.
Okay, I admit I am hoping you will tell me to eat intuitively and make sure when I do it fits my macros...
Help?

To be honest, I'm not quite sure. Most people are ravenous after lifting and want to eat all the foodz. Maybe you have a delay and it catches up to you the next day.
On days I'm not as hungry (usually the weekend on rest days), I will force feed if I am WAY short on calories. If you are not hungry after lifting, try and front load nutrient dense and protein based foods before. If you come in a little below goal (say 300 or so below) then try to make up for it the next day when your appetite returns. As long as things average out during the week, you should be okay.
You may also find that this flips the other way when the weights get heavier. I'm all for listening to your body if you are still focusing on nutrition and ensuring that on average you are hitting goal.0 -
I'm like this I lift comp standard heavy and do quite a bit of volume and I'm never super hungry afterwards. I have my nutrition planned out so know what I have to eat and just eat it. however when i play a football game on a Sunday there is no amount of food in the world that can get rid of the hunger, so again just have to eat to plan and normally go to bed early lol. Just one of them things0
